Is Church just for the sick and those admitting they are sinners, or for those who love God and enjoy worshipping too?

I have recently been surrounded by people that feel church is just for these people. And others feel it is just for the perfect.
What if you are there knowing you are not perfect but people see things on you and deny you the opportunity and blessing of worshipping with other believers of God. How would you handle this if it happened to you? Some of the churches treat it as get out of jail free so to say, If they attend but treat people poorly and still steal they are still saved. If they throw women and children on the street that is okay with them.
A small backround of my life, I was raised in a church that was centuries old. They had overcome many things. They are still standing, why? Because they are children of God!! They work as a family unit, and God takes care of them. They don't deny people the blessing
of entering God's house. I taught children many years in this church during serices in the church, Other churches invited me
either from my friends bringing me or the pastor inviting me. And it didn't just extend to Sunday sevice, it was activities at their churches.
I was extremely blessed to have such good frieds that were followers. However, where I live, some pretend to be Christians, followers, and then do things personally, I think would make God cringe.
My question, how would you handle this if this happened to you? How do your congregations do with following God outside?

Hope2day4ever, it sounds like you've seen both the beauty of a church that works like family and the sting of being kept at arm's length by people who should know better. That's a hard thing to carry. I keep coming back to Jesus' words in Mark 2:17, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick... I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Nobody walks in perfect, and the door was never supposed to be guarded by other people's opinions. I hope you find a group of believers who make room for you, and that God keeps you steady in the meantime.
