In Matthew 24:12, Jesus speaking about the last days did say, "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." Sinners that never were born again were always cold so Jesus is not speaking about them.

1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils”

Depart from the faith is speaking about people that got born again and were walking in faith until the departed from believing on the Lord Jesus because they started following seducing spirits embracing doctrines of devils.

Sinners that never were born again never were in the faith to begin with so the Lord is speaking about them in 1 Timothy 4:1.




It's the eternal security folks, the so called once saved always saved folks that will come at you for suggesting anything we do has any bearing on our salvation one way or the other. These are the clouds without water spoken about in 2 Peter 2

You are assuming the very thing that needs to be proved. Matthew 24:12 says the love of many will wax cold, but it never says those people were born again and then lost salvation.

The same is true of 1 Timothy 4:1. “Depart from the faith” certainly describes apostasy from professed faith and truth, but the verse does not say they had been born again and then became spiritually unborn.

That is why Matthew 7:23 matters. Jesus does not tell those people, “I knew you once.” He says, “I never knew you.”

And Scripture itself distinguishes between being among believers and actually belonging to Christ: “They went out from us, but they were not of us” (1 John 2:19).

We need to let the passages say what they actually say instead of adding “born again and then lost salvation” when the text never says that.

A lot of people seem to think this is all a moot point because they claim once a person gets born again it matters not how they live whether they walk with the Lord or not because they claim it's never possible for anybody to lose their salvation so they would have a big yawn when anyone tries to tell them about warnings from the Lord.

When one dies in unbelief there is no longer any hope for them. Clearly, saying one in unbelief can be saved because before they were in unbelief they believed in Christ, proves they were never born again through the Spirit of Christ in them. Because one who has been born again through the Spirit of Christ is eternally secure forever, because the Spirit will be with whosoever has been born again forever. Born-again Christians are "kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation."

When a righteous person turns away from their righteousness and commits sin, all their righteous deeds will not be remembered, and they will die for their sins. This is stated in Ezekiel 18:21-28

Remember, the Lord gave us His righteousness to walk in (abiding in Christ) and some turn away from the Lord

We need to not be cherry pickers and accept all the Lord says in His Word.
A person cannot depart from the faith if they had never gotten born again which is how one enters the faith.

Playing word games is what is causing the little ones to stumble (young Christians and immature believers)

In Matthew 18:6 and Luke 17:2 Jesus says it would be better for someone to have a millstone hung around their neck and be drowned in the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble or sin.

People can vote in all the elections they want, but it will not stop the inevitable.

Here's one that's also speaking of Christians being able to lose their salvation:

Very few are willing to judge themselves honesty before the Lord so they won't be be condemned with the world.

Judging yourself is opening one's self to receiving the chastisement and correction of the Lord (we should ask for this!) so we won't be be condemned with the world. If we reject His correction and refuse to repent then we get this:

This is being turned over to a reprobate mind, and as such a person such as this is no longer on the narrow path that leads to life as they are now on the wide path that leads to eternity in hell.

It's sad too because all they had to do is love the Lord more than their sin and repent to go back to Him.
It's always very odd to hear people claiming a person such as this is still saved and claiming this helps people decide to continue in their sin ignoring the wisdom of the Lord. In the end they love their sin before the Lord.
