I have been friends with this girl - lady she is 81 and I am 82, and we grew up
one house apart... since the age of 4 and 5 years old.
we were both Catholic. I brought her to the church , her family does not go [ did not go]
And I went to the school for 6 years , she did not ! Just to mass on Sunday.

And now, our children started to try other churches ! And got us to go and we got
saved in our 50's, my husband and I .... Sure am glad we had children !

Well my girl friend still goes there to the Catholic Church, and I do not believe she is
saved..... As we were not at that time.....

Belonging to the C. Church you [I was told not to listen to other religions]
So I imagine , she was told the same thing.

So I have been trying to find words to help her get saved , but she all ready told me

talking religion you loose friends ! And that is true I have lost a few my self.

I just asked her if she was saved and she said yes ! But lets not talk about this we will
loose friends this was....

So what can I say to her ? To wake her up, by the way she does not use or have a
bible ! So this is really hard !
Thanks for any help !

The words of God have power. The bible is unlike any other book.
I had never read the bible and yet I was saved while still attending the CC. It doesn't matter what church one goes to, it matters that they meet Jesus.

She might really be saved if she didn't even ask you what it means. What I like to ask people is: Why do you think you're going to heaven? And take it from there.

It's great to have a nice friend for such a long time...
God bless you and your family.

You know the saying- " Always preach the Gospel , and if needed, use words."

Ask yourself, is this you worrying about her , or God moving on your heart?
You speaking to her , if God is not speaking to her, will go nowhere.

So my advice is for you to not 'say' but 'pray'...because prayer can so often move the mountains that our feeble words cannot.
Ask the Holy Spirit to move on her heart, soften her heart, and draw her to the Father...let Him do the work...He is better than any of us.

God saves people in wonderful, glorious and even mysterious ways.

Luke 23
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him,Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Acts 9
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

The thief perhaps could not read the Bible or scriptures whereas Apostle Paul did and also instructed others to read the Bible(Acts 9:22, 2 Timothy 3:15). God saves those who read Bible even if they do not understand it(Acts 8:29,30). There are people who struggle to find time to read the Bible despite of their busy work schedule!

When the disciples were speaking they were amazed.
Acts 4
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

God can use anyone to save. When God wants to use you, then you will know. Let God use you and don't push yourself too hard. Let God carry out the work of salvation according to His own good pleasure. We need to continue to do our best to lead the spiritual life.

Matthew 5
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

All glory to God.

Be prepared to loose her friendship as the cost of witnesing to her.

That said does your church have anyt midweek ladies events?
My church has abi monthly ladies meeting, called ' Natter and Nosh', it's an evening event where ladies sit around tables and talk over a meal and then listen to a short Christian message.
Half of those inattendance are non christian and would not normally attend a church. They are attracted by the friendship, gossip and by the talk.

A ladies event that is not openly Christian is one way to reach her.
Otherwise ask her a question, like what does it mean to be a Christian?
See if she is willing to look at that.
Or you can be blunt and tell her youi are no longer RC and ask her why is she?
If she closes your friendship leave her a present of a bible and a set of bible reading notes and pray for her.

You are not understanding prashanthd !

Do you think she would read that ?

IT HAS TO BE SHORT AND TO THE POINT ! OR SHE WILL JUST SKIP IT ALL..................

She believes she is saved ! and using no bible how could she be.

So she would not of course read more then a line or two............
Sorry about that, but that is what would happen !
She was not happy that I even asked if she were saved.....
and said she believe in the 10 commandments / for follows the
ten commandments !

hi Grams, maybe "our daily bread" would be something she would read.
It would come in her mail every month, is easy to read and a testimonial story with every passage every day.
You could go online at ourdailybread.org
For $15.00 donation, or even less, they will put her on their mailing list.
You could pay online or they will have an address to write to with a check if you prefer.
I'm not sure, but they may send one out to your friend for free.
Coming in her mail every month would surely make her curious about what's inside of it.
Try it.

Hello Rollo Tamasi,

I all ready sent her a good track from our church ! and she kind of said to stop this..........

So I am looking for a short verse on salvation that may give her a idea for asking a question at least ?

I remember back when I was in her spot.......... we were told not to listen to other church's or religions...... from the priest.....

.

You are trying far much too hard.
This is you doing this, not God...let Him do the work....you just be a good friend and when she asks you a question just be there for her if and when you asks.
If the Holy Spirit is not moving on her you can do nothing of value ( except praying) When Holy Spirit moves upon her, she will start asking you questions.

I had not heard from her for a month, I was worried that a verse I wrote might have made her stop !
But today I got a letter, she was very busy. She is one year younger then me 81...... I'll be 83 in a few months.
She is busy with her daughter who is in a wheel chair and she is helping with her family, taking the children to school and picking them
up , and she takes her daughter shopping. So ............. I sent her my version of being saved , what is at the end of my post.
But I wonder is there any other verse that is more help full ????
I do not eve know if she would have gone to church if it were not for me....... she was not going till I asked her one day to come with me.
and that was not soon enough, because while I was going to the catholic church, I had to be with my class...... and I could not
have her come and go sit by her self...... She still goes to the catholic church, but what she told me on being saved , did not sound like
she was , I had my son read it and he said no she is not....
Do you see any verse that are better then this ?
Eph.2;
8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Grams:

I would not even send Chapter and verse to her. Send her the words in them and make it a personal letter from a friend that really cares about her and her life, beyond this one.

Tell her to get down on her knees, alone in prayer and thank God for her life and that she wants to know at this moment, without a doubt she has salvation. Tell her that God wants to hear from her, in a very personal way, that her ‘Church’ cannot do, even a priest. It is just between her and her maker.

Add in the letter these essential ingredients for salvation, said in your own words that do not sound too robotic like reading off a shopping list.

The wages of sin is death. We are all sinners in the eyes of God and we all deserve to not to be in heaven. We deserve permanent separation from God and death.

The is no hope without God. We cannot save ourselves and do good deeds to gain God’s attention and his love. Goods deeds do not bring salvation. God wants us to accept his free gift of life by his son. We cannot earn it. We must want to accept it freely. Jesus sacrificed his life as a lamb to the slaughter, on the cross for HER.

Tell her to repent of her sins and tell God to forgive her. Tell her to pray this with a sincere and humble heart. Tell her that God will hear her words that she wants to know without a doubt, she has salvation.

God will hear her prayer that she believes with all her heart and mind in his son and his work on the cross to blot out ALL HER SINS. If she truly believes in his son then God will bring her salvation, TODAY. God’s spirit will then live with HER and love HER. He will not see HER sins anymore. They are all forgiven and forgotten. HER belief in his son is sufficient. Then tell her to pray to God that she is truly thankful for ‘saving’ her. God will hear your prayer, believe me.

God Bless you and your friend. I will pray for you

A big revelation came in the form of a verse that God gave me for a Catholic friend of mine which changed her life for good. ~
John 14:6
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
