The point being ppl come here to have their beliefs tested, but often end up leaving bc they are then offended that they personally have been found at fault, or at least so they think. Iow people tend to invest themselves wholly in beliefs now, quite often that is a person's entire identity, and questioning the belief = attacking the person, to their minds.

Similar to the scenario most football fans are very fam with, iow, otherwise known as the Hegelian dialectic, i guess, with beliefs substituted for teams.

But do they come here to have their beliefs tested. You and I may...and that IS one of my reasons for being here...but I don't think many here are that open minded!! Lets face it, some even start their post with "Error" or " Wrong"...that doesn't sound very open minded!!
Some I am sure don't want their sacred cows of belief rocked or shaken..

I think many come here just to tell the rest of us what we should be believing ...which in their minds, is what they believe.

I think I can honestly say that I hold what I hold as 'my beliefs' lightly.
Some I would have to hear a very strong argument to let go of...but other I am not even sure of so I don't hold them tightly. That , I believe is how we grow, mature and change....
An insecure person is terrified to even look at his beliefs closely , let alone listen to some one else's argument against it!

I asked that people check out the translation but you, and BB, only want to criticize me, and others, as you do in all your replies and not just replies to me.
