Who wrote the scriptures?????

Abbá – "Father," also used as the term of tender endearment by a beloved child – i.e. in an affectionate, dependent relationship with their father; "daddy," "papa."

If you know you are His, why fear?

Luke 15:31, “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.

If you know you are His, where is the confidence in the knowledge that when you cry out to Him all will be OK? Ask yourself, "What kind of Father do I have?" and "What is my opinion of God?"

Jesus goes into the wilderness as a beloved Son and the Prince of the Earth tempts Him with skipping the Cross and getting it ALL.

Luke 4:7, If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

Luke 4:8, Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'"

Jesus answers him by misquoting the scriptures or did Jesus revise? As the Author, He revised.

Deuteronomy 10:20, Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name.

Old Covenant, fear God, shake on Mount Sinai. New Covenant, fear turns into worship, joy unspeakable on Mount Zion. Which Covenant are you in and which mountain are you on?

I run from any teaching that tells me to fear God. Would you want your own children, if you had any, to be taught to fear you?

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Revised, out of the OC into the NC. Ask yourself, "What did Jesus accomplish on the Cross?"

The worship of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
--------------------------------
Hebrews 12:22, But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,

Hebrews 12:28, Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
the everlasting covenant you try to imply makes the previous null and void again you speak contrary to scripture

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

therefore Jesus is the law fulfilled, hence the law is included in the everlasting covenant. also Paul, one who contended with the Jews on circumcision states clearly:

Rom 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

so the law being fulfilled for the sake of the called, chosen, and faithful has actually nothing to do with whether or not one should fear and respect the Almighty.

also Jesus enjoys a Beloved Son relationship with the Father that is true, but until God the Father calls you "beloved" or even Jesus like He did with Apostle John, or the angle that visited Daniel, until you rate at that level, maybe you should heed what the scriptures say.

Well be afraid be very afraid, one cannot love one of whom you are afraid, if that is what you think of God, than you have problems.

nope the people who had a loving relationship with God namely the Israelis say that is what one should do, isn't it? so what you are saying is your god isn't the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, right? there seems to be your god and what you say that's like, and then there is the God of Israel and what the Israelis say that's like.

There is a right way and a wrong way to fear God; there is godly fear and ungodly fear.

2 Timothy 1:7, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

This is a healthy fear of the Lord: 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding' (Prov 9:10 NIV).

From Psalm 119: 119. You put away all the wicked of the earth like dross;
Therefore I love Your testimonies.
120. My flesh trembles for fear of You,
And I am afraid of Your judgments.

The Psalmist loves God and fears Him.

nope not hypocrisy to scripture, only hypocrisy to your views of what a god ought to be. again scripture does say God of love, but John the Beloved says God is love different isn't it. hence what God is, of which the scriptures witness to, is love, not what you think love ought to be.

hence true love is not contrary to scripture, because "God is Love"

Well lets see

1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Nope, no fear in there....

hate going to dictionary but

G2125
εὐλαβέομαι
eulabeomai
yoo-lab-eh'-om-ahee
Middle voice from G2126; to be circumspect, that is, (by implication) to be apprehensive; religiously, to reverence: - (moved with) fear.

you know what revere means

revere, reverence, venerate, worship, adore mean to honor and admire profoundly and respectfully. revere stresses deference and tenderness of feeling. a professor revered by her students.

like I said, I have no fear of God but i do respect Him

What about:

1 John 4:18
[18] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

If fear is cast out...then where is it?

Genesis 28:17
[17] And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

Could it be a different fear spoken of in "perfect love cast out fear"?

Romans 13:4
[4] For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

There is no "Mary Poppins" God.

Deuteronomy 10:16-18
[16] Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. [17] For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: [18] He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

But here is where the fear is cast out. We know that if persecution comes on believers and we are killed by men, hated for the word of God. That even in pain and suffering our God is doing a good work. If men do the same to our children before our eyes; We keep our testimony in the face of hatred and evil. There is no fear for those that Love Him. Even when God allows the persecution to come upon His people, we still hold fast that "it is good".

Genesis 50:20
[20] But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

but yet there is this isn't there, one scripture doesn't negate the other one should understand they are both true, but those who seek to use one and disregard the other are disingenuous, simple as that:

Jesus says here what to fear:
Luk 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

and the rest of scripture isn't contrary to that:

Mal 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

Act_9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Eph_6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Php_2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

1Pe_1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

1Pe_2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Jud 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

Exo_9:30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.
Deu_6:2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
Deu_6:13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Deu_6:24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
Deu_10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Deu_10:20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
Deu_14:23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
Deu_17:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
Deu_31:12 Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:
Deu_31:13 And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
Jos_4:24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
Jos_24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
1Sa_12:14 If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:
1Sa_12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
1Ki_18:12 And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.
2Ki_4:1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
2Ki_17:28 Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
Psa_15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
Psa_22:23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
Psa_33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Psa_34:9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Hos_3:5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
Jon_1:9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.

Okay DPMartin, I can see you are on a mission. Here is the thing: you can beat down someone yet never encourage what they do have right. Paul encouraged what the Corinthians had right while rebuking what they had twisted. Those that are strongest (in Christ) among the brethren are to come underneath those that are weak and lift them up. Careful in how you handle those that may be His children. Who are you to decide? Are you scattering or gathering?

I won't deny the scriptures you gave (which you also use to support your cause). There is no doubt God is All-Supreme and All-Power. So, I will agree: Fear God.

Hebrews 10:19
[19] Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

1 Corinthians 6:3-6
[3] Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? [4] If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. (Why?)[5] I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? [6] But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

though Paul may have been this way or that way in his communications with the churches he never feed them a spoonful of sugar that is something the Mary Poppins Christian insist they are entitled, or they refuse the Truth of God. did you refuse the truth of the matter at hand, no, did you argue points sure, no harm in that. but those who love the truth are never offended by it, are they?

just to demonstrate the point further:

King David was a man after God's own heart and the Lord is the one that said as much. what did David tell his son Solomon what does the Psalmist say about who or what to fear? this is a man who walked with the Almighty the Lord his God from the time he was a sheep herder taking down bears and lions to taking down Israel's enemies by the thousands with out fear for his own life because he loved what victoryinjesus?

fear is cast out for your self and your life, if your child's life is in emanate danger isn't it. because you love what? guys like John Peter Paul were under constant persecution and danger for their own lives. when Peter was incarcerated an angle came and rescued him hence Peter experienced God's protection for the sake of the ministry. these guys did this because they loved the Lord Jesus, which started with fear and respect. fearing the Lord is the beginning of.............

this is their God they speak of according to their experiences with the Lord their God, if one doesn't like that God they tend to makeup their own god in their own image.

and besides its not my job to make you feel good, that's really your problem.

Deuteronomy 10:16-18
[16] Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. [17] For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: [18] He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

.

also who are the fatherless in the Throne of Heaven's view? are they not those who are not born again and can't call God the Father (Abba)? who are the widows in the view of the Throne in Heaven, isn't it those who are betrothed to death, and not the Groom the everlasting Life we know to be Jesus? and who are those without food and raiment? aren't they those who need feed of Spirit, hence the Truth of God the Word of God, aren't they who need to be covered by the Blood of Jesus that their Maker sees them through His Beloved Son and not their own sin and shame?

if you want to talk about God's love and compassion there is where to look, there is plenty of need there. and those yahoos who call themselves don't have what is required to do those things, but they can satisfy each others desire to feel good, you know, warm and fuzzy. Those who are obedient to their own views and agendas of what Christianity is, are not obedient to the Lord. What those who call themselves pretend to do, cannot do what requires the Life of Christ to do. and to do that which is mentioned in Deut 10:16-18 requires the Life of Christ to do.

Wow!
That's a little frightening.

Not everyone had such sweet parent's, I have posted before, I FEARED MY DAD, and for good reason. I also fear God, with a reverence fear, and DP is right He has the Power to save, and not to save, If any one brakes the least of the Commandments, that all it takes.

Genesis 15:1 KJV

Agree. I would even say, what you explained is the overcoming of the world.

John 16:33
[33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Acts 14:22
[22] Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

I get it: this life is not about us serving us, but us serving God. My husband says I am one of the weakest people he has ever met, and it is true. Our counselor calls it a fear based personality. I fear God and have for most of my life. There are things in His word; gripping truths about Him that if I brought them here and shared, others would definitely not like the truth of what His word says. But there is not one verse or truth about God's power that offends because, while I fear God, I also know He is good and has a plan and His plan surpasses our own understanding. With fear there must also be trust. If all we talk about is fear then when do we get to share the marvelous work God has done?

John 16:27
[27] For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Genesis 15:1
[1] After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
