Holy Bible - Matthew 10:8 (ASV)
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give.

Churches are apostate, not doing as the Lord commanded, filled primarily with unbelievers, servants of the Devil, Satan. Churches are siding with Satan by not casting out demons (devils, evil spirits) and for other reasons.

There are ways to tell who is a believer and who is not. However, churches throw the doors wide open to the public, contrary to scripture.

Holy Bible - 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (KJV)

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Do not judge so harshly. Many, even whole churches, are still babes in Christ. God doesn't need people to mature before he loves them. Let us never forget the love of God is the reason we are saved. Nether forget the blood of Jesus is the means by which we are saved.

Granted I wouldn't go to a church that subverts the gospel.

Unbelievers must be brought into a gospel preaching church. There are though many cults and false church groups. Many who would become Christians are turned aside by the false Lamb. Those sham churches that are wolves in sheep's clothing. Jehovah's witnesses and others who prey upon the lonely and ignorant.

Matthew 7:15-16 KJVS
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Jesus can come on his own and save. He does this daily because much of the church, the real one, is entrenched in the church house only leaning out the window to yell come to church.

Before I was saved the neighbor's children would yell from their parent's car window, apparently with their approval, "go to church"! It was not a love motivated inducement. Forty + years later I am saved and those children are not. They attended a dead dead dead denominational church.

Jesus instead came for me. All over the world the Holy Spirit moved by prayers, convicts those that never heard of Jesus and arranges things so they get to hear the gospel.

Ezekiel 34:11-12 KJVS
For thus saith the Lord God ; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. [12] As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

Men's programs to teach the lost are uneffective. God needs obedience, not idea men. Who are the believers?

Romans 8:14 KJVS
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Church gatherings are not for unbelievers. It is only as church becomes a spectacle when it no longer matters who is in the audience. It is a performance meant to tickle the fancies. Who cares whose fancies are tickled?

But the congregation of the Lord should foster the presence of God...so that if an unbeliever were to come into the meeting...he/she would be immediately convicted of sin.

1 Corinthians 14:24-25
[24] But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: [25] And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

Do you see this happen? It is hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic through written words...I’m not being sarcastic. I sincerely want to know if you have seen this happen in church gatherings? I grew up going to a Baptist Church (when I went)... that is about the only church building I’ve ever been in. There I was told I was going to go to hell and burn...every visit. Not saying all are that way; but that was my experience with church.

Definitely the unlearned. it seems nowadays there are many unbelievers among the believers. So then those who call themselves unbelievers do not come to meetings.

We meet in small groups...and there's no fear mongering. ;)

We brought my unsaved sister to church with us where she got saved. Tell her she wasn't supposed to be there. It must be a strange assembly that would promote "us four and no more".

Weird beliefs where believers would not allow others to hear a saving message... EH?

Why do you think you need a religious setting for "salvation" to become official?

The gospel is to be preached all week....at any time and any place. The weird believers are the religious ones that need a "sacred" space to do "salvation" things.

I know what you mean is a religious service...on sunday morning no doubt.

But that is not what the bible describes as the gathering of the brethren.

To see what a true gathering entails...look at 1Co. 14.

If people want to make a religion out of their calling in Christ....that is not my concern.

I was saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit and given gift of tongues. All OUTSIDE any church.

God saves people is all kinds of ways. No formulas. Some in churches some in tractors. In or out of church religion is toxic.

What? YAY!! It sure sounded like you were one of those building type Christians....but glad to hear you don't need a certain kind of sacred ritual.

So you think a person can receive Christ outside a designated building in the absence of organ or piano music....and with unpaid ministry?

Is this another of those coincidences?

I did, so did my hubby six weeks later...in our living room :)
My older brother came all the way from England for a holiday here in Canada back in '78... He found the Lord ( not that the Lord was lost)
Deep in the woods or northern British Columbia.

Jesus never, ever told anyone to preach the gospel in our churches. He said to go into all the world and tell people there.

But, even if He HAD said to preach the gospel in church buildings where the OP seems not to want to "open the doors" to others, the only ones who would be hearing the gospel would be those who had already accepted it.

This is totally the opposite of what Jesus said to do.

Let's quit trying to sound so spiritual that we end up ignoring what Jesus told us to do in favor of creating little private Christian Clubs that exclude the very people He came to seek and save... the lost.

I like the scripture that says God added daily to the church as many as were saved.....they got saved and baptized and then were added to the church.

Agreed. I think the "All are welcome" idea is the wrong mindset. It keeps the congregation always in first gear...always catering to people making the first step....but then nothing.
It is no coincidence that we don't find any spiritual maturity these days.

But the ministries are for the perfecting of the saints...not just a perpetual recruiting drive.

The church agenda has become numbers....with no depth at all. But that desire for numbers has gone in the very opposite direction to the mission of the church...that is to make disciples.

I am really surprised at what I am hearing. Some of you are actually saying that nonChristians should not be allowed in "your" buildings. I agree that they should be hearing "The Gospel" from each of us out on the streets and at work or school, but to say to, in effect, turn them away??????

Very well put Willie. Preaching the Gospel in Church, as a rule...is basically "preaching to the choir". Jesus said "go". Be in the world to shine His light to the lost. Not OF the world as that would make us just as lost. I enjoy fellowship and edification, and that is why I attend services.
