1 John 4:8 tells us that God is love:
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 reveals the characteristics of love:
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

So it should follow that God will show these characteristics in abundance. What are some biblical examples?

Obviously;
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

the best example I can think of in scripture though I believe there are many.

Moses was one who didn't think of himself first proving love for God and the people.

Jesus (God) on the cross.

Jesus fulfilled the Two Great Commandments which also fulfilled the Ten. He loved God with all his body, offering it up in sinless perfection on the cross, the worst death any sinner could die. He loved God with all his soul in Gethsemane saying "thy will be done, not mine". And he loved even his enemies as he did himself. He died in their place as they blindly wrenched the last drop of blood from him. While he asked God to forgive them for killing him.

What is love, that's the question. Work out what love is first then you'll know how to do it, or feel it, or think it.

I think love is a frequency, like a radio wave.

Too deep and vast to be comprehended by our tiny pea sized brains that is for sure.

It says " God IS love"....who can define God Himself? :)

One aspect of Love, is being able to forgive, no matter how bad the offence, or how bad it effected you!
God created man, He set us above the celestial being, even though we are mortal! remember this one thing, God knows when a sparrow fall's, and we are much more in His eye's than a sparrow, and He Love's all of His Creation!

Correct. Thoughts are energy waves, or wave-particles, just like all forms of energy. So loving thoughts are also waves with a very high frequency.

Love keeps no record of wrongs.

Psalm 103:12 KJV — As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

I think love is a frequency, like a radio wave.

I think love is a spirit, like the Spirit who created the universe and everything in it.

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

Zechariah 8:16 'These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.
Zechariah 8:17 'Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these are what I hate,' declares YHWH."
