Hi Prayer Fighter. Yes, some Protestants relied on plays, songs and other methods to get their information out. Do you know your Christian history?

Curious Mary
Actually I do. The Jesuits are renowned for their use of entertainment throughout their 400 years of existence as the means by which to educate and capture the minds of the unsuspecting.

He's been quoting some documents about it. I think you need to read back through his posts.
I believe it says that they should be:
First...excommunicated. (heretics)
Then..expelled from their territory.

I don't believe it says exterminated, the way we understand it today.
I'd like to check it out but I need the chapter and sentence number.
(Lateran IV is a document)

Exploit away! Knowing or not knowing church history doesn't affect how I live my life--by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Be blessed!
Thank you for the blessings. :)

Knowing your Christian/Church history is important when one tells lies about your Church history; which happens often on this forum. Scripture tells us one must always be ready to give a reason of the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15). For me, thru historical writings I know which Church is the pillar and foundation of truth that Jesus built on a rock and the historical practices of that Church, the Church I belong to, are backed by Scripture. The history of my Church, 2000 years worth, matches scripture. Protestants have 500 years of history that changes as society changes i.e. gay marriages and clergy, some protestant churches condoning abortions.

You really don't think it is important to know the history of how the bible you quote from came to be (66 or 73 books) since there is no table of contents given to us by Jesus, the Apostles or God? I presume you accept the 66 books? If so, you don't really know why you accept them, do you?

I don't think @BreadOfLife attitude is a good example of Catholicism, or Christianity for that matter.
I believe HE has much more to apologize for than @Rollo Tamasi ever will.
The big difference is that when BoL speaks...he means it... Rollo is just pulling his strings because it's impossible to speak to BoL.

Only God knows how many have been killed in the name of religion.
I'd say that it is millions.

And just as many have been killed in the name of atheism. We like to remember the Jews killed in WWII, Communism killed about 20 million during the first half of the 20th century.

But the really ugly part is that so many were killed in the name of God.
Got it. What I see from the sidelines is that you have yet to condem @Rollo Tamasi for "joking" about the Knights of Columbus killing people. You then go on to suggest that @BreadOfLife is not a good example of Christianity? @Rollo Tamasi is being a good example of a Christian when he "jokingly" suggest (maybe he was serious?) that the KOFC were involved in killing people? Since he was joking about it, it's OK to make a false accusation? Hmmmmm.....the standards are lower for Rollo than they are for @BreadOfLife? Fascinating!

Mary

Only God knows??? Ask Rollo, he knows.....he said 25 million. ;)

This is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. I've never known of an organization that has whitewashed history more than the RCC!
The only evidence you have is dreamed up nonsense written by the false philosophers of the Enlightenment era and on. Colleges and universities don't teach your junk history because it has been proven to be false, especially with the opening of the archives. Any "histories" written before the '60's is known to be unreliable and outdated. That's why I insist on recent documentation by reputable historians THAT YOU NEVER GIVE.
That's why SDA's who get higher education LEAVE your cult, they learn your propaganda doesn't measure up to facts. Would you like me to post (again) the SDA source where I got that information?

Truth nourishes. Hate, lies, rhetoric and polemics is toxic to the soul.

Hi, Mary, you and I REALLY disagree about what it means to be a good Christian. Having studied the Bible for over 40 years, I'm very familiar with the verse you cited about being ready to give an account of the hope that's in me. That means knowing what the Bible says and being able to testify that knowing Jesus Christ as my Savior has made a big difference in my life, and He has!

Ever grow up in an Irish neighborhood in Boston?
Have you ever apologized for a horrible "joke"? Or, if you weren't joking, apologized for a flat out lie?

Here is what the men of the KOFC do for their fellow humans: What We Do | Knights of Columbus

You should be ashamed of your false statement or "joke" according to your minions.

I suspect an apology is not forth coming and you will only double down and make more crass statements.

Do you know if any "renowned" Protestants that have done the same? Or are you only interested in finding the fault in your Catholic brothers and sisters?

From the history I've read, I don't think that Rollo was off in what he said. But then, I didn't read RCC history. Shame on me! There is a double standard at work here. I never see you commanding BoL to apologize for all the name calling he does!

How can we disagree on what it really means to be a good Christian when you don't even know what I believe on that subject?

Since we were discussing Christian history I find it interesting that your response didn't address it and my statement/question about it: You really don't think it is important to know the history of how the bible you quote from came to be (66 or 73 books) since there is no table of contents given to us by Jesus, the Apostles or God? I applaud you. Do you know that the Commandments, the 9th in particular, is still binding on all Christians?

Thank you PW.

Several months ago I sent him a private message about his choice of words. I believe, and I will research it, I have also said something publically. If or when I find it I will give you the post # I said it in. :)

You don't think rollo was off on what? The Knights of Columbus and the Jesuits being responsible for killing 2/3rds of the population comment??? Post #1015???

Then you should quote BoL for his name calling instead of slandering him. Mild condescension is not "name calling", einstien.

Follow up from my previous post on this matter.

I am not able to find any public commanding from me of BoL to apologize. In August of 2017 I sent him a private message.

There is a difference between "name calling" and flat out lies or crass "jokes". Especially jokes about killing people. I don't see BoL making those types of "jokes".

And, as Paul said:

1 Cor. 4:3-4
It does not concern me in the least that I be judged by you or any human tribunal; I do not even pass judgment on myself;
I am not conscious of anything against me, but I do not thereby stand acquitted; the one who judges me is the Lord.

In other words – I don’t care what YOU think of me, GG. I will expose ANYBODY who spews lies against Christ’s Church.
Rollo stated that the Knights of Columbus was responsible for millions of murders. Whether he was kidding or not is besides the point. It’s an easily-debunkable LIE.

The fact that YOU find this kind of lie humorous says MORE about the kind of person YOU are than it does a pathetically ignorant person like Rollo . . .

I may make more crass statements in the future, but I doubt I could ever top you and Breadman.
