I used Google over a decade. I have installed Google toolbar on my Firefox. I have my Home Page configured with google. As soon as I connect to the internet, open the browser, it auto-logs-in-to my Google account and I see my photograph on the top right corner. One click on Gmail, and I have my email account. I have even seen a google image of cakes and fireworks on one of my Birthdays! :D

I spend a lot of time searching study resources, so it was easy. Start typing as soon as I open the browser or open a new tab and type in the toolbar or in a new tab click on 'home' and 'gmail'. Then I realize, it is already midnight and I should go to sleep. Next morning, the Googling :wave_smiley14: continues.

Recently, I looked at MSN. Then I realized the reason why I used to forget browsing the news everyday.
MSN logs into Microsoft account, has a link to my hotmail. MSN has links to OneDrive and even Facebook and News - both local and global with pictures. (It has Daily Horoscope and I can remove it!) I don't remember the last time I've seen or used MSN :(. I changed my Home page to MSN and 'am loving it. :)

So, what is your Favorite Search Engine and how do you enjoy your searching on the internet? Do you ever really think of changing your 'every day' search engine?

I use Google, i find it comes up with the most relevant search results compared to other search engines, and you can usually find what you are looking for.

Google all the way. I love how you can log in to chrome browser and have your browsing data on every computer you log in to. Google ecosystem is just so big and convenient.

Because Google, Bing and some others collect data on you and actually politically tweak searchs.

Having worked in intelligence I am very security conscious.

I also tweaked Windows 10 to shut down as many tracking functions as I could.

I use the Cyberfox browser, a security tweaked version of Firefox. Chrome and Microsoft browsers also tracking.

Add in spyware, virus protection and I am pretty good. But even then not perfect.

People do not realize how intrusive Microsoft and Google really are.

Lol...I also use Chrome. To me, they are pretty much the same and, I think it also can have something to do with the operating system. I don't care for Internet Explorer as it just seems slow on my computer. And I am pretty sure 'they' do know everything about us! Whoop-ti-do! Yep, boring here too :D

There might be circumstances where we cannot change our browser or search engine. Almost all browsers have a 'Do not track' or a similar option in its settings. Some might doubt its efficiency even then it is safe to use this option.
Search Engines like google or bing can track and save our browsing history if we are logged into the google or microsoft account while browsing. It is safe to stay logged out while searching and also log into the google account and locate an option where you can delete all the stored browsing history. Besides this it is good to regularly delete the browsing history and cookies on our local computer. ;)

But you're still going through their servers where they track you by your IP number.

To escape that you have to use a VPN service.

Chrome.
I use Bing too, but it moves a lot slower.
Plus, they look different, Chrome is my favorite.

Sometimes I'm asked if I could be tracked.
I always say No.
(but they probably do it anyway).

Oh. And your camera should always be turned away...it could be accessed.

I use google. You can search any site by typing for example: rapture site:Website url. And find anything posted on the rapture. Or substitute any other word and find it to, on any other site.

I never use my camera so, I usually will put a piece of black electrical tape over the lens.

I don't think that this should be a worry. If you have an inbuilt web cam with your computer, then you should find a small tiny light beside the lens which glows when web cam is used. So when that light doesn't glow, it indicates that the web cam is not in use.
If you are using an external webcam, then it can be turned aside or even switched off. :)

I find few features common on google and bing which come in handy.
The context help, which shows up when we type in the search box
contextHelp.jpg

Also Related searches at the end of the page

The 'Do not track" feature, I was referring to, is generally available with the browsers to let websites know that they should not track our browsing behavior. How do I turn on the Do Not Track feature? | Firefox Help
The VPN or a Proxy server can be used to hide our ipaddress. :) I think most of them, for example shopping websites, track our browsing behaviour using our login id when we sign in or use cookies.
