I didn't really say anything negative about her tattoo. I think I may have just noticed it and asked her what it meant.
So did the recently tattooed lady from your church see it as a Gospel era rather than law-keeping issue? or maybe she didn't go into detail with you.

Of course, and I don't judge them over it. They are not outside the kingdom for their perspective on the law; but I believe they will only be considered to be less than in the kingdom on that day because of their perspective (Matthew 5:17-20).

Do you think, though, that her motivation to evangelize with a faith based tattoo will likely count for something?

I don't know...it may be that the testimony of a faith-based tattoo is more negative than positive.

Personally, I believe that living holy is a better testimony than doing something unholy in order to bring attention to something that is supposed to make holy.

Interesting...

My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; it was her favorite Bible verse and mine also.

I can understand this as being viewed by a lot of Christians as very positive, rather than negative.

(If you see what I mean?)

I still hate 'em.
"To me" ..Faith based ...is just trying to white wash the issue and justify how a person can be like the world and have a tat.like them..

My grand daughter has some...there she is in her beautiful $5,000 wedding dress , and a black rose on her shoulder...and not a small one either. It made me sad, not happy.
( neither did spending $5,000 on a one day wedding dress ha! )

But, each to their own. We are each responsible as to what we have done in this body.

Blessings...Helen

Interesting post!

I'm sure your granddaughter looked lovely on her wedding day, whatever views there are about tattoos!

Actually these days it seems like the matter of what to do with bridal tattoos is quite an issue for bridal parties to resolve. Like, if the bride decides to cover her tattoos, then can she really expect the bridesmaids to do the same?

And also it's kind of in the nature of bridal and bridesmaids' dresses to be sleeveless / off the shoulder, so it's inherently hard to cover ink. Unless they use a huge amount of make up to cover them. (Often brides will use a huge amount of make up anyway...)

I guess in the end it's all about making choices as adults. Being a bride is of course among other things about making a permanent choice as an adult. Curiously, so is getting tattooed: it's like saying, I'm an adult now - no longer a little girl - and I'm making a permanent ink decision that I'm comfortable with.

Seems like your granddaughter is comfortable as a tattooed woman, in any case, right?
