Unforgivable Sin: Blaspheming the Holy Spirit - Praise/Sing to Your Holy Spirit

This passage is eternally important. Whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. Thus, whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will be condemned to Hell for eternity, unending.

Matthew 25:31-32
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

I agree, this is a very important verse. There are people who understand this verse along with others with their own bent of understanding and so also the rest of the verses from the Bible. This is the reason why we find so much of diversity in opinions among people which were comparatively less earlier. The real problem is when people think they are right when they are wrong about understanding this verse and moreover they are quick enough to point at others who are on the right understanding.:( Hardly they realize that when you point a finger at others there are three fingers pointing at oneself.:( The verses in the Bible are meant for our own understanding in order to learn to glorify God and not to try to drag someone to hell when they are in the right path towards God. Misuse and abuse of verses in the Bible can be proved to be dangerous at its own timing according to the will of God.

Hebrews 4
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Proverbs 1
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

All glory to God.

Jesus love must be conditional then?... That's a strange view because Jesus is "love personified" and before every one of us was born - he loved us so much he sacrificed his life to pay for every sin that we would come to commit (that was around 2000 years before we were born).

Not that we should use his forgiveness to be rampant sinners for the fun of it for we will have scars from our sins. However the threat of losing our salvation using this one scripture particularly has been cruelly exploited through to centuries to control us and stifle our spiritual growth by us being subservient to those men who we allow to judge us.

Always ask who is this person wishing to remove my salvation that is majoring on this comment and who does this person represent? Then we can either exist under their banner and be oppressed unsure if our salvation has been earned or we can talk to and grow close to Jesus and live life in abundance.

Whether Jesus' heart is being represented here or not person to person, I don't know. But I do know that the mercy of God embodied in Christ has a limit, which is evident in the verse quoted in the original verse. It may be that some use it as a threat, but that is not what Jesus was doing. He on the other hand, was stating a fact. And if that is the subject of this thread, then it is that fact that should be of consideration.

In those days men were more receptive to the Spirit, but lived according to the flesh, while the things of the spirit were manifest in the flesh. On the contrary, during these times wherein the Holy Spirit has been promised according to Joel the prophet, Jesus, and confirmed by Peter, men still live according to the flesh and many as much as campaign against the Spirit, even some who call themselves Christians.

I cannot believe the number of times I have been accused of "spiritualizing" by would-be Christians, who have apparently abandoned the reality that "God is spirit", that the words of Christ "are spirit", and that Jesus, "is a life-giving spirit." And this they do while "glorifying" the flesh, in an attempt to see Christ come again in the flesh. Which I say, not to make this an argument about the return of Christ...but to give caution to such an apparent lust of the flesh, that the Spirit is disavowed by many. While such arguments are against the sons of men and are forgivable - they are also against the Holy Spirit...and are not.

For those who have an ear to hear and who are not certain as to the true meaning of the unpardonable sin and blaspheme of the Holy Spirit please see our blog posts entitled The Unpardonable Sin for further insight on this issue.

To many have had their faith crumpled because someone erroneously taught them something which they themselves had not rightfully understood and in so doing have brought unneeded anguish and despair upon those poor souls who believed that they have committed the sin unto death.

A broken spirit and a contrite heart are evidences that one has not committed the sin unto death, for it is impossible to renew those who have, "again unto repentance." (Heb. 6:6).

Is there anyone who has actually blasphemed the Holy Spirit? I know that I did. Without a conscience now and without feeling. I wish I didn’t.. but I guess God knows when to let you go.

I have such a hard heart and literally no compassion that I used to. I am ugly on the inside out. I cry every day wishing I hadn’t done what I did habitually…. warning to others when the Bible says run away from sin- RUN and don’t look back

Can you give me the example you did that you THINK was blasphemy against the HOLY GHOST .
I am betting you did not . Or why would it even bother you now . Its only too late if you keep believing the lie that it is too late for you .
You can start fresh today and never look back .

I’m with Amigo on this one. If it bothers you, you didn’t commit the unforgivable sin. Now confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness in Christ’s name.

@JBee07, you didn’t ask for prayer, but I’m going to pray for your healing.

Hi @JBee07 Good to see you on the forums; those who have done what you said, usually don't care. You do care. Hebrews 7.25 says the Lord Jesus 'ever lives to make intercession' for all who trust Him.

There's a dividing of the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

The blasphemy in that passage in Matthew is not the same blasphemy as other instances of the word in the bible.
