An Ode for the looming Brexit situation in Great Britain?

The Mother of Parliaments censures the UK Government for a lack of transparency.

The British Prime Minister, after 17 months of Brexit negotiations, and after enthusiastically and lengthily promising to back its own motion for the House of Commons to approve the Government's own (at least, so called) Brexit deal, yesterday adjourns it suddenly, without giving the House of Commons the opportunity even to take a view on the adjournment.

The Speaker of the House of Commons, in response, derides the UK Government for its blatant disrespect for Parliament, in so doing.

I do wonder if in hindsight the lyrics of Sarah Brightman's Adagio (Albinoni/Giazotto) in G minor / 'Anytime, anywhere', can be viewed as a kind of ode to Great Britain's situation against background of the vivid Brexit events coming to a dénouement.

The result of the vote among Conservative Party members should be known by about 8PM GMT / 3PM Eastern Standard Time, Wednesday 12th.

Since most of those who supported her hold government posts, and to vote against her would mean having to resign from the Government, this means that only about 30 of her backbenchers supported her in the no confidence vote.

It's interesting that the moves toward what became the European Union began already during WW2 and afterwards through the influence of the OSS and CIA.

I cannot really remember all the ins and outs of us going in as I was a young teenager and I didn't really understand it all. I agree that the EU needs to change, my brother lives in Germany and he agrees that it's a mess, but he is also in favour of us staying in rather than leave.
I am totally fed up with it all, but I do pray about it.

My guess is that she will table a confidence vote linked with the so called Brexit (it's not Brexit!) deal and try to force her own backbenchers to support the deal on pain of the Government falling and of the backbenchers losing the Conservative whip.

This is the device that the most uninspiring Major government tried over 25 years ago with the Maastricht treaty: the treaty was only passed because the government linked it with a confidence vote.

I guess some sceptics who won't abide the deal disaster going in the name of Brexit will reason that Mrs May has already destroyed the Conservative Party, and won't be leading the Party into the next election, so why not put principle before career and vote for what they believe in (i.e., not this so called Brexit deal which keeps the UK under EU law, truncates the United Kingdom and gives the EU 39 billion that could be better spent elsewhere) and finally put Mrs. May's Prime Ministership out of its misery. How many will do this remains to be seen.

(One can't necessarily believe a word most of the MPs say in any case.)
