Nebuchadnezzar published his testimony around 600 BC for the whole world to read. It is recorded in Daniel chapter 4, but it must have been an official Babylonian royal document published throughout the Babylonian Empire. He wanted all men to know that (1) the Most High God had done signs and wonders towards him, and (2) that those signs and wonders were very great and mighty, and that it is God alone who has an eternal and everlasting Kingdom.

1. Nebuchadnezzar was given a dream as a warning to humble himself before God and to acknowledge that everything he had received had come from God.

2. In that dream he saw a huge tree which extended from earth to Heaven. It was visible throughout the earth with much foliage and fruit, which became food for all creatures. The birds lived in its branches, and the beasts lived under its shade.

3. Then an angel descended from Heaven and proclaimed in a loud voice that (1) the tree should be cut down, (2) all the branches should be cut off, (3) all the leaves should be shaken off (4) all the fruit should be scattered abroad, (5) all the beasts should be driven off, and (6) all the birds should be driven off.

4. At the same time the stump and its roots were to be left undisturbed, but a band of iron and brass was to constrict it. It would remain in a grassy field which would be covered with dew, and the tree would have its portion with the beasts which grazed on the earth.

5. After this the tree was identified as a man who would have the heart of an animal for seven years (called *times*).

6. The dream also revealed that this judgment was decreed by God through His holy angels for three primary reasons: (a) that all men should know that the Most High rules in the affairs of men, (b) that He is the one who decides as to who will rule on earth, and (c) that He also allows the basest or most evil men to rule if that is His will.

7. None of the astrologers, magicians, soothsayers, or prognosticators (Chaldeans) of Babylon could interpret this dream, so the king sent for Daniel (whom He had name "Belteshazzar"), since he recognized that the Holy Spirit (calling him mistakenly the spirit of the holy gods) was in Daniel. However Daniel was shocked at this dream, and greatly troubled. Yet he interpreted it perfectly.

8. That tree was Nebuchadnezzar, and God had decreed that this mighty king would be brought down to earth, and made to live with the beasts of the field, eating grass as an ox, for seven years, until he learned who God was and that He ruled over men. However Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom would be restored to him after those seven years.

9. In spite of this clear warning and Daniel's pleadings, Nebuchadnezzar failed to humble himself and repent of his sins. Instead after 12 months, he openly boasted about himself and his kingdom. Thus judgment fell upon him immediately and the dream was fulfilled.

10. After this humbling experience, Nebuchadnezzar made this amazing testimony, and became a true believer:

34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Never forget Nebuchadnezzar was the king of the first empire, the head, of mystery Babylon.
The *head of mystery Babylon* could not possibly present a worldwide testimony to his submission to the Most High God, whom he praised mightily. He was an idol worshiper at one time (and even regarded himself as a god), but he was shown over and over again the power and authority of the LORD God Almighty, until he finally humbled himself.

It is more than likely that given this testimony in Daniel 4, Nebuchadnezzar became a true believer, hence he is called *my servant* by God.

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations. (Jer 25:9)

And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him. And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him. (Jer 27:6,7)

And say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them. (Jer 43:10)

Who said he said submitted to God?

You seem to forget the demons recognize Christ for who he was but that did not change anything as to who they were.

As the Bible says in the end every knee shall bow to him, including those who will spend eternity in the lake.

He was a pagan and died a pagan. He was the head king of the mystery Babylon statue.

I have no doubt that Nebuchadnezzar is in Heaven. We are told that he praised and honored God. (Dan. 4:34) That he praised and glorified and honored God. (4:37).

Those who will be forced to bow the knee, may bow the knee, but they will not praise Him. Praise comes from the people of God.

Cults praise God as well. Does that mean they saved?

Do you know he continued with this praise of God till his death? No you don't.

The fact that he is the head of the statue of Daniel says it all. Mystery Babylon belongs to Satan.

It is a great testimony but one that has left me with questions. We have empathy for Nebuchadnezzar who built an image (Idol) of gold and whosoever would not bow to the idol was cast into a fiery furnace(heated seven times). Three men bound and cast into the midst of a fiery furnace. The fourth the likeness of the Son. Some vital words: Daniel 3:25
[25] He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

“...and they have no hurt.”

Daniel 3:27
[27] And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

“...upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed...”

(Revelation 17:9-13), (Revelation 17:16-17), (Daniel 4:25) ...is the image (idol) not the same ... man’s kingdoms of reign? And the entire image (work of man’s hands) we are told comes crashing down. The iron, clay, brass, silver, and gold. The astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, the false god. The idol of man which (IMO) has always been given to the flesh.

Daniel 2:34-35
[34] Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. [35] Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image (idol) became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

As the 10 kingdoms of Revelation 17:12-13 it is over generations and time: And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

Is it not the beast (image) of Daniel?
Revelation 17:16-18 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. [17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. [18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Revelation 3:18-19
[18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

“...but receive power for an hour.” There is only one who can give power. John 19:10-11 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? [11] Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. (Romans 13:1)

Here in the thread it has been acknowledged nebuchadnezzar which is the head was called “a servant” by God.

Daniel 4:32-37 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. [33] The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers , and his nails like birds' claws . [34] And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: [35] And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? [36] At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me. [37] Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride (the image/Kings) he is able to abase.

Yes. Nebuchadnezzar started out as an idolatrous pagan king. Please follow the chronology. And the secular records will not give us what God gave to Daniel to write down by divine inspiration.

But after God humbled Nebuchadnezzar for seven years, and literally made him into a monstrous ox eating grass, he repented of his sins, and was elevated by God.

The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was (1) driven from men, and (2) did eat grass as oxen, and (3) his body was wet with the dew of heaven, (4) till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and (5) his nails like birds' claws.

Even the most evil men can repent and be converted. Study the book of Jonah. Thus this man became a servant of God.

It is an image of kings and kingdoms over time which are shown in the end to be broken into pieces and consumed for the final kingdom and King to rule? Yes? No?

Daniel 2:34-35
[34] Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. [35] Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Daniel 2:43-44
[43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. [44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

You see no connection between nebuchadnezzar and the fiery furnace and our being tried by fire?

You forget this is the OT, where one could bow to God one day and curse him the next.

Without the blood of Christ there is no salvation. There was no blood of Christ at that time.

Where did it ever say he rejected the Pantheon of God's to whom he built temples?

And note, he always referred to God as the god of the three Israelis, never as his God.

To the pagans adding another god to worship was no big deal.

You cannot deny the evidence of the statue with him as the head of mystery Babylon.

So, there was no blood of Christ at that time, yet many were saved under the Old Testament.

(Dan. 4:34,37) is a statement of belief that surpasses many Christians that I have heard. Faith in God is all that is required.

And Nebuchadnezzar did not refer to God as the God of the three Israelis here.

Nebuchadnezzar was not adding another God. He was praising the God who not only he recognized as afflicting him, but healing him.

As I said, Nebuchadnezzar being the head of God, means nothing as to his being saved or not.

In the OT times the blood of Christ was a promise, not present then.

None of them were born again until Christ let them to heaven at his resurrection.

It does not matter what you think or say the Bible is crystal clear. He was the king of Babylon which is the head of mystery Babylon, which most assuredly is anti-God.

He was the king in the Babylon beast. He will be the king of Babylon in the seven headed beast of Revelation.

That is just a simple biblical fact.

It doesn't matter. Salvation has always been by faith and God applies the blood whether it is future or past. Old Testament saints were saved even though not born-again. And Gentiles who came in contact with Israel, and placed faith in the God of Israel, were saved also. Just like Rahab the harlot.

Nebuchadnezzar being the head of Babylon does not mean he cannot be saved. And it does not mean that he is the head of mystery Babylon. Where do you get that? And where do you get that Nebuchadnezzar is the king of Babylon in the seven headed beast of Revelation? Produce these 'simple facts'.

All these barbs against Nebuchadnezzar -- in spite of his clear testimony as recorded in Scripture -- show that there is a great deal of unbelief among Christians when they read the Bible. Next we will hear that the apostle Paul could not possibly have been saved, since he was a persecutor of Christians and had many killed.

I don't know but I trust his judgement. I hope to be one of the many on the sea of glass praising God for his just and righteous judgements. Soooo, that must mean at some stage we will have insight into all those things that perplex us now. God will not keep hidden from us any of what we now consider mysteries.
