@Dave L PS: Here's a quote I saw:

In the hospital that I work at you would be hard pressed to find employees without tattoos.. We even have significantly older nurses that shock.. me to know they have tattoos. I view it as another avenue in ways that people express themselves

Whether among nurses & patients or in witness, it's extremely hard to deny that they do indeed work as conversation-starters, isn't it?

That's always difficult breaking it to strangers that you don't necessarily see things their way.
PS: I think I already mentioned about the young lady whose full John 3.16 wrist area tattoo brought about a conversation that would likely never have happened otherwise. Her needle bravery paid off dividends, I guess, right?

I can look back and see how making my belief in Christ clear from the start, with an obvious reference to Christ printed on me, would have alleviated lots of clumsy attempts in witnessing.

Yes, well if the older generation, instead of being negative about 18 year old Christians of both genders who really want to testify clearly through their faith based first ink, were to realize it might after all be worthwhile being delighted instead at the younger generation's boldness to endure the needle pain for a short while, it might help at least some young people's confidence in witness.

I sometimes wish more Christians worked in tattoo parlors, don't you?

Yes, seems when trust can be built between you and someone, friendship so on, sharing your understanding just comes natural
PS: We were thinking recently about how it certainly works in a healthcare setting, and so without doubt in a witness setting often also, right?

Thanks to all who voted so far in the poll!

If you have not yet voted in the poll, please vote now! :)
Your smile in this context belies an agenda....and not one in the interest of the participants!

I think they are too busy to consider it right now. And although they are exposed to them, they still prefer the temporary transfers. Lol
Oh they need to know their own minds, don't they? There's also the option at decision time to grasp the nettle and have the needle experience. As you know.

Actually 3 of the 4 poll options do not express agreement. It seems you are even hostile to people expressing those 3 non-agreement poll options. (It seems, by the way, that most of my posts on whatever subject are objectionable to you; well, that's fine.)

So do you and your daughters ever discuss ink plans and possibilities?
No, we don't talk much about tattoos but if I do get one it is going to look like this....

Those are really nice designs.

I especially like the Romans 6.11 caption included in the one to the left.

You'd be well advised to talk non-committally to an artist with portfolios (if you haven't done so already). They don't rush the client unprofessionally.

So I guess that — more deeply than the girl ink designs that you mentioned re. your daughters' — you are really relishing the future idea of feeling a fulfilled Christian with joyful witness inking?

I have often pondered the idea of a tattoo that reflects my faith.....never know when it might be a witness to someone....would definitely be a conversation starter about Jesus!

Well even beyond a Christian context nurses find they definitely work as conversation starters among patients, as ice-breakers. Put simply it helps them to do their job, it seems.

Of course for you it's the witness aspect that really motivates you.

To think that years ago it was a man thing.

Are you really pleased that it's now wide open for women?

PS: @Dave L I wonder why so many artistically-minded Christians seem to shy away from working in tattoo parlors?

PS: If it's often on your mind, you might find that parlor portfolios will reflect the ink colours better and you might get a better sense of the different sizing of designs also.

Those are some really good designs you posted, anyway.

The drive to reflect one's faith in ink often needs work and preparation, of course.

Maybe so far you've looked at Web collection designs, or maybe you've already seen parlor portfolios also?
