Hi,
it seems to me that a huge percentage of those who profess christianity are really not Christians at all. They disobey 1 Cor. 14 (they PAY a HIRELING to do their thinking), and it's pretty much a "social christianity" where everyone has to be "nice" to be a christian. -- But being nice has NOTHING to do with either GOD or Jesus. If it did, then there'd be no hell, but there is, so maybe neither GOD nor Jesus are "christians"?

This so called "christianity" reminds me of the hippies of the 60's & 70's which were all "peace and love" until you disagreed with them, then they were hateful, vile, and vicious.

Or so it would seems to work that way. But then again I hate to accuse the ~10% for the behavior of the ~90%.

... and so I've seen long time Christians who were active in the church, including teaching, -- disfellowshipped not for disagreeing with Scripture, but for disagreeing with the Pastor (remember the HIRELING?).

Where is the accountability? It's in the toilet because we're playing "nice" instead of taking liars and wolves to task for their attacks against GOD. Yep, if you accuse a wolf of being a wolf, you need to be put on ~probation~ until you learn to be nice to wolves. And failing this, YOU WILL be removed from "fellowship". And I have no clue what "fellowship" has to do with wolves, except as what happened to Ananias and Sapphira.

So we find so called "christian" circles where wolves are welcome, but the prophets are killed. Sound familiar?

... and still -- there are those in the "social christian" mode, which assert the "I'm OK, you're OK" mindset made popular by Robert Schuller, as though the path were wide and many enter therein. If you're sincere in your beliefs and/or practices (however deviate they are) GOD is LOVE and you will be welcomed into heaven.

Yeah, NOT!

Even some so called evangelical thought has descended into man-ward social gospel thinking rather than Biblical, God-ward, doctrine.

The bad news is that the path is narrow and few enter therein, but the good news is that there will be plenty of participants for the Great Falling Away. And so Bible prophecy is fulfilled, allbeit with those who trust the Hireling to guide them, only to find out that the Hireling only has one person he/she is interested in, -- and it ain't those in "fellowship".

It will be interesting as we complete the last 2 3/4 years of the Tribulation (42 months total, -- not seven years) just how the "church" will continue it's descent.

Luke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.

It will take a radical Christian to plan, implement, and achieve unto Jesus' return.

What's wrong with being nice, it sure beats being mean.

Sounds like we have attracted yet another one with an ax to grind. LOL
I'm quite confident that when Jesus returns, HE will encourage everyone to do whatever pleases them, in whatever fashion they desire. HE won't have any "AX TO GRIND", and HE certainly won't hold anyone accountable.

Rev. 2:27 and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received power from my Father;

"Rod of IRON", "ax to grind", -- sounds like Jesus needs to be rebuked by some in this Forum.

Hey, Jo, what is "other religion" that you signed up as?

"Christian", with a CAPITAL "C", versus the usual "christian", with a small "c". -- Yeah, it's a rarity today, including in many "christian" forums.

I just want to be a sheep. Baaaaa. :) Welcome. It is 2am and a lot of what you said just went right over my head... But Jesus Christ is who I know and He died on the cross for our sins so that we can have eternal life. Believe in Him! He offers forgiveness and I can kindly say He is my shepherd.

If you want to be "nice" to wolves, then please enjoy being their prey.
We all get to choose!
Bobby Jo

I constantly pray God gives me eyes to see others as He sees them. Yes there are wolves. We have to have discernment from God on who the enemy is using. But if we look at people like how God looks at people, I think the world would be a nicer place.

It still comes down to where we encourage "wolves" to enter "fellowship"; and "kill" the prophets for calling "wolves", "wolves". -- And that's my point.

Where we see GOD as being JUST, holding his flock close to HIS breast and extending HIS hand to those who do not know HIM; we also see a vengeful GOD who will destroy those who willfully defy HIM and attempt to destroy HIS children; -- whether on earth or as we all stand before the Judgement Throne. But in many "christian" (small "c") circles, we're led to believe that we should ONLY extend a hand to the unsaved. -- WRONG!

The "discernment" you cite is a CRITICAL aspect of our Christian (capital "C") lives, and we need to be wise, especially as we've already entered the 42 month Tribulation (Ref. Rev. 13:5):

1 Thess 5:3 When people say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief.
