Occasionally in life we meet those who seem to have a ministry of encouragement. No matter what their own circumstances are they emanate a spirit of peace, and have an uplifting word for everyone they somehow manage to bring cheer to everyone.
( @Frank Lee is one who comes to mind on this forum :) )

Observed encouragers through the years, I have noticed that they have some things in common.
For one, they are more concerned about other people than themselves. I'm sure they take to heart the admonitions of Paul, “Each of you should look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others” Philippians 2:4 and, “No one should seek their own good, but the good of others”

1Corinthians 10:24 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in trouble with the same comfort we have received from God.”

We may never know the enabling power our words carry when we encourage others who are going through hard times.....may the Lord give us the words they need to move forward in their spiritual journeys.

Another common characteristic is that those with a ministry of encouragement seek out those who are stumbling or hurting. Just as God brings comfort through the power of the Holy Spirit, so do encouragers
make themselves available to those who need comforting.
including our own spouses, our children and friends need encouragement.
It's easy to take for granted all the things done for us in the name of love.

Recognizing the acts of kindness, and giving positive reinforcement,
encourages them to be even more diligent to attain higher standards.

Proverbs 3:27
“Withhold no good thing from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.”

As we go through this week, lets stay alert to opportunities when we could change someone's day, or week by a kind word or a smile. There are many hurting people in this old world, who just need to know someone sees something of value in them, and affirms it!!

Just a few thoughts...

I totally agree with you....I just told him that on a response to a thread he made....always encouraging and uplifting. He never strives with others on any topic.

My old dad was a great encourager.
I try to "live there" too...I do well for a while...then I blow it by getting frustrated ..usually with someone who I see is 'beating up on' someone else! :)

Waiting on him

This is a wise builder, provoking others to love and good works. It’s kinda crazy, sometimes when I get out in left field posting things I shouldn’t he’ll literally pull me away to a different post. I hope he knows I appreciate this.

I'm hoping God will let me live so that I can encourage others. It's so needed. Everywhere you look there are heavy burdens that are evidenced by the faces of those that carry them. Our corner of the world may be very small but by the Holy Spirit we can let the light given us shine out into the darkness. Amen

Matthew 5:16 KJVS
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Some circumstances in life we simply can’t stand. They hurt us, they frustrate us, and they discourage us. :(
It’s tiring to deal with constant, "daily stuff", and the urge to quit can be strong. But we can each make the decision to stand firm. ✟

How can we do this? We can put on our armour, piece by piece.
And, when we have done all we can do to stand, and then , we can stand some more! Ephesians 6:11-20). We are only defeated by our circumstances if we let them be the reason to sit it out, give up, or turn back.
My friends, I can stand and so can you!
So, don’t quit … I am cheering you on! ♥︎

Yay and Amen!
I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able.
Able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.
Able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

Able to succour them that are tempted.

Able ... to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the pres-ence of his glory with exceeding joy.

Able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Believe ye that I am able to do this? ... Yea, Lord. According to your faith be it unto you.

Awesome scripture choices Helen. Thank you.
He is such a help in times of need and, that's where the rubber hits the road...we will trust Him or we will trust ourselves. So over the first and am excited over the latter. We do NOT know what He has in store, we see NO way but He comes through every single time! Oh how short our memories can be!
