The church needs prophets more than anything besides the direct presence of God. Now, no single prophet is meant to speak all truth. That is why it must be 2 or 3. A single prophet knows the truth but can be lacking in perspective. But when the prophets agree...then that is taken as the truth. On the witness of 2 or 3.
That is the biblical way to meet as the church. But you don't do as the bible says to do...do you? Have you ever been to a real church meeting like Paul describes...or just sunday morning indoctrinations? No prophets? No meeting in the Lord!
1 Cor. 14: What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.
"When YOU come together"? Who's the "you"? Certainly not religious posers....but real followers of Jesus Christ who are led by the Spirit.
I find that they who push the bible the most do not take the bible seriously...just like the ones who push grace the most have the least understanding of it.
Oh, the humanity!
