In the 1960's TV show "Romper Room" in Southern California, the Teacher always had a segment where the children had to put on their "Thinking Caps". But as they grow into adults, they no longer need their Thinking Caps. Instead, everything is filtered through their rose colored glasses, so much so, that they can no longer THINK. They simply recite whatever nonsense they've been told.
So for those who no longer can exercise intelligent thought, please feel free to select Topics whose lies agree with the lies you've come to believe. But for any of you who still have critical thinking skills, please consider the following:
These are pretty simple questions, with pretty simple answers, but one of the challenges is to debunk the LIES which we've been fed from the commentators. And the BEST evidence is from "Daniel, The Key To Prophetic Revelation" by John Walvoord. He wrote what is undeniably the most important work on the Book of Daniel, -- not for his conclusions --, but because he cited the greatest scholars whose insights are invaluable.
And so we read regarding the second beast, -- the Bear:

Daniel 2 defines FIVE World Empires:
But a first year Political Science student would easily determine that because the Roman Empire was never conquered, that the disparate kingdoms, fifedoms, communities, villages, and regions had no NEW government model to follow. So they simply kept the taxes they had been sending to Rome for themselves, and retained the Senatus Populusque Romanus, “Senate and the Roman People,” with which they were accustomed.
And so today we recite in our Pledge of Allegiance the reference to the residue of Iron in our Roman government model: "... and to the Republic ...".
Of course this concept should evolve into additional questions:1. Gold, Babylonian
2. Silver, Medo/Persian
3. Bronze, Grecian
4. Iron, Roman
5. Clay, "Divided KINGDOM"
Unfortunately, the FALSE teachers and commentators provide the FIFTH "Divided KINGDOM" of Clay as though it were an extension of the Roman Empire -- because there's a residue of Iron in the Empire of Clay. So they present a 4a Roman and 4b Revived Roman LIE.2. Silver, Medo/Persian
3. Bronze, Grecian
4. Iron, Roman
5. Clay, "Divided KINGDOM"

- Is this FIFTH "Divided KINGDOM" the FEET, or is it the Ten TOES?
- How many Participants are there in the FEET, (if appropriate)?
- Who are the Participants in the FEET?
- Who are the Participants in the TOES?
- How do these Participants fulfill the "Beast" depictions given in Chapter 7?
- Are there any incongruities in the depictions?
- Does History AGREE with Scripture?
.. among others!

But now that were in the "end times" (the era approximate to 1948), we can OPEN the Book of Daniel and see what he saw, -- if you're up to the TRUTH of Scripture and History!

" ... the best explanation is that ... "

" ... Young's objection to Jerome's viewpoint is that ... "
So if you're CONVINCED that the "Bear" is the Medo/Persian Empire, -- well you might want to withhold judgement until the "experts" themselves are convinced. -- And that's only ONE of the FOUR Beasts. But of course because the commentators defied the angel's instructions in 12:4 &9, you can rest assured that EVERY purported ancient assignment is equally flawed." ... many suggestions have been offered ...
