This is something that has not become a part of me yet.
I can read it, say it...but fail when trying to LIVE IT!
How about you?

Have you nailed this yet?

I have no problem with the first three. The first - I do not like angry confrontation so I will immediately walk away (such as I tried to do with Elaine recently, and she would not allow me to?...) And, with the second one, I would walk away BECAUSE of becoming angry, which would lead to angry confrontation lol.
The third one would have me walking away as I would see this as rejection, and I would not want to be around those who see no worth in me anyway.
All of the others, yes indeed, I do struggle with allot of times! ♥

Smack the other cheek! wait turn the other cheek :) be yourself and hope for the best. That flesh battle will be ever present, sometimes we handle it like a champ, other times the making of a son is in full bloom.
Ephesians 6 and the Whole Armor of God is a great, relevant passage to the ongoing battle of faith.

I'm in the camp of "walk in love, the rest will sort itself".

I think the constant examination is to be inward, not at others . . . the texter at the green light, not look at how this person is victimizing me, instead, I feel impatience rising, and that's not loving them.

So be patient and look to God to be to work on time or not. Perhaps a friendly tap on the horn to alert them, and the desire that they meet their needs, whatever they may be . . . and glad they aren't texting while rolling, that would be more dangerous. Not holding it against them, because, after all, God's forgiven me of much!

Much love!

Good post Marks,
God has brought me a long way with this kind of thing, certainly NOT there yet, lol. When these irritating kinds of things happen, I just remember how patient and long suffering our Great God is! And, when I think on those things, the impatience seem to immediately vanish. We do not know what others have gone through or are going through so...it's ALL about loving others, even the hard to love ones ♥

If you follow all that advice you will end up sitting on a mountain, all alone in perfect health.

"Walk away from arguments that lead you to anger."

Anger is an emotion: you had to learn when to be angry and how to act. You have given control to others, and the only correction you know is to avoid those others. The failure here is you have not learned self control.

Here is a long essay about self control. When you read it, bear in mind that this is written and published by economists, not philosophers or social gurus. Economists are students of what actually works, not what they wish would work.

This is a good article but, it pretty much refers to children and how they should be raised "in the way they should go"...But, it is tougher to overcome as an adult, IMHO.
There are a couple of areas where I lack discipline and they seem to just latch on where other things of my BC days, have gone away, Praise God! My belief is that in this world, in this fleshly body, we will never fully tackle every aspect of the fruits. Yet, we are to keep that armor on and keep on running the race, regardless. So, this gal say's PRESS ON!! ♥
