I’m new here and don’t really know where to post this.

I’m a firm believer in God, I was raised Catholic but have since become non denominational.

Lately I have been feeling like I have no where to turn to, my job is a dead end job, and I think they’re about to let me go, simply because I get reactions from one of the chemicals I have to work with, I pray to Jesus to come into my life and help me through these things, I even ask Jesus to please help me find a better job so that I may be happier in life.

But nothing seems to happen, I pray every night and I am starting to feel an emptiness inside of me, I repent for all the wrong doings I have done in my life and beg for forgiveness, so that I may be saved.

Can someone please help me?

I had something similar years ago.

I told my boss when he let me go "The LORD has something better for me!" And the LORD did. Try some Psalm 62:8 on for size! :)

Devote yourself to God and meaning and peace of mind and heart will follow. For me, I have never found fulfillment in my employment - I work so I can have the resources to live. During my life here on earth, I have committed myself to perfecting love, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Finding meaning in small actions of love is the best way for me to find bigger meaning.

Have you read any Saint Thérèse of Lisieux? How about The Imitation of Christ? Both have helped me quite a bit.

I am praying for you

Welcome JohnPaul!

Your life and breath are evidence that God has intended good for you. Not so much as would seem good to the ways of the world, but rather that by this tribulation you will gain eternal life, if you only believe. The good news in times of trouble, is that He is with you and will see you through. He also has promised not to subject us to more than we can handle. Consider all that He has done for His people and rest in the promises He has made. Also, turn your focus to what He could possibly be doing with the trials that you are in, and ask Him how you can help Him and others. It is better to be a volunteer than one who suffers alone. You are not alone. Remember, that He has already won all victories...including yours. You are in good hands--the best!

Welcome JP!
You have gotten several great reply's. I would like to add something here myself. When you talk to The Father, just let Him know that you don't know what is happening or what will happen but, that you trust Him no matter what. Then relax and see how He does His work ♥ We are told many times in the Bible to not worry, fret, fear...especially about the material things. He has EVERYTHING covered.
And, since you yourself have only so much control over these things, why worry about them anyhow? Wouldn't you rather put them in the hands of The Perfect God, who only has your best interests in mind? I would most definitely have Him take the reigns and, rest in Him.
God Bless you as you grow!

I don't get it. From what I see, -- live your life:

Luke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.

Did you expect bolts of lightning, the heavens to open up, manna to fall from heaven? Really?

Do the things which GOD expects, put your hand to the spiritual and physical plow, and keep moving one foot in front of the other. Let GOD worry about straightening your path while you do everything else the BEST YOU CAN.

OR, -- lay around on the sofa, watching OPRAH®, eating a bag of Lays® potato chips, and sipping a Pepsi®, feeling like you're not succeeding, -- which you won't be.

And by the way, you'd better get moving NOW, because we're already one year into the 42 month (Rev. 13:5) tribulation, and there ain't no magic parachute which the church deceives so many with.

Welcome to the forum JohnPaul,
I think all of us have times when we pray, want answers and don't see them. However that doesn't mean God is not active within the situation - it just means we cannot see it yet.
Is the job really a dead end one, or is it that you don't see any value in it - Sometimes God changes us so that we can handle the work environment in a different way. All of us get fed up with the daily routine , but it doesn't mean that our role is unimportant with our work colleagues, or people me meet.- sorry I don't know what work you do.
Can the allergic reaction be dealt with in any way- wearing gloves or anything ?
I pray you see a glimpse of Gods hand within your situation X

Seriously Bobby jo - is that your favourite verse at the moment- and do you honestly think throwing that summery at everyone is called ' coming alongside ' people.
Maybe it's just me, but it didn't seem appropriate !!

I remember when I was a babe in Christ and it seemed the more I tried to get closer to Him the more things would go wrong in my life. I thought man, being a Christian is no cakewalk! In my ignorance I thought God wasn't blessing me because I still stumbled in my walk.
Trust God...the Bible says the footsteps of the righteous are ORDERED of the Lord...so trust Him to order your footsteps in the right direction.
Read this scripture daily:
Bible Gateway passage: Proverbs 3:5-6 - King James Version
Speak His Word over your situation...He says it will not return to Him void but accomplish that which it was sent to do.

Well, if you don't like Scripture, then maybe you like OPRAH®. As for me, I do everything I can to achieve what Scripture tells us to achieve:

Matt. 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force. -- If better rendered should read: The kingdom of heaven is obtain by pursuit, and pursuers take it by ardent action.

... and we DO only have approximately 2 years (maybe a few months less) until no man can buy or sell. -- So what channel is OPRAH® on again?!?

And a note to @JohnPaul, from all the sympathizers, -- here sweetie, place your head on my shoulder while I pat your back and whisper sweet soothing words into your ear. Jesus loves you and you don't need to worry about doing anything. HE will care for all your needs, he will take you in HIS loving arms and all you need to do is pray. -- YEAH, NOT!

Be a man. Either get busy or get lost. (Boy that was harsh! :) )

Bobby jo - so you believe that Christians should not come alongside others in need just because its the last days - where in scripture does it say , not to be compassionate, not to care, not to understand.
My comment was linked to having a right balance -
Oh yes, it does say that the love of many will grow cold !
I stand by what I conveyed.

I would like to thank you all for the kind words, it’s helped me out a lot.

I was feeling helpless and searching the Internet for biblical words of encouragement and came across this forum, and am glad I joined.

Many of times I felt like giving up, but have always turned to Jesus and persevered on, just that lately it’s been a little harder.

Everyone who has posted in this thread has helped me a lot, God bless you all.

You're welcome...it is a wise person who seeks Godly counsel when battling situations in their life. But I should say always pray and seek Him first and if He leads you to places such as this then you can be assured He is directing you to those He trusts to have the right words of encouragement for you.

Welcome!!!!! God loves you dearly. So sorry you are struggling, but nothing is impossible for God. And His Word says all things work together for the good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. So just keep seeking the Father and His kingdom, and He will strengthen and help you in these life issues. I said a little prayer for you in case I forget later. Yhere is power in prayer for sure!!!!

And I stand by what I have provided. We're not to coddle each other, -- we're to exhort, reprove, and admonish. So my exhortation is to not have a pity party. Take life head-on with all your strength and endurance:

Rev. 13:10 ... Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.
Rev. 14:12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

... and use all the resources at your disposal:

Luke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.

... and you might inherit the Kingdom of Heaven:

Matt. 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force. -- If better rendered should read: The kingdom of heaven is obtain by pursuit, and pursuers take it by ardent action.

Remind me not to ask you for prayer! Yikes! Lol.
Just curious about how well you survived as a new born again believer? Did you know all these scriptures? Did you have anyone teach you?
As scripture says...as babes we are fed the "milk" of His Word until we are spiritually mature enough to receive the "meat" of it.
