Jeremiah 13:23 (NASB)
"Can the Ethiopian change his skin Or the leopard his spots? Then you also can do good Who are accustomed to doing evil.

“I can do nothing with myself”

I can change neither the color of my skin nor the spots on it. Nor my nature I was born with, or anything about me. I who am accustomed to doing evil. I, who does not recognize goodness, except as that which I am not.

Needs a Savior.

A ever present one. One that will always be there. Never to get tired or leave, or change His mind.

One that sees all, understands all. I need God Himself to be my Savior and save me from me. For I am my worst enemy. I cause me all my grief. Wanting to be right, wanting things my way. Such a disaster is I.

Such a disaster are we.

A Savior is called for, a Savior is necessary. To save us from all we are.

Blessed are we to have such a one. And His name is Jesus. He came to save us from our sins. He came to save us from us. Thank Him so very much for doing away with that which needs to be done away with, and that is me.....I...... self. On the cross He set me free from me, that I might walk in newness of life by the faith of my heart turned to Him. Such a freedom, such a joy, such a ever present reality to know my Savior this Jesus Christ my Lord personally.

That this relationship that lives in me might grow and abound in all things to the end that I, we, any body who wants it may have it. By the simple searching for it with all their hearts.

To the increase all our hearts are crying for.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

We indeed need the grace of God to intervene; simple faith in the Person and work of the Saviour must take precedence over any imagined human merit.

Absolutely!

This truth of there being “no good thing in me” is a truth that will set the heart free from looking to itself.

Oh, that God would open up our hearts, so we learn this truth, in a new, deeper, more intimate, and awesome and real way.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

We do need to keep 'looking unto Jesus' (Hebrews 12.2), indeed.

Works for me!

That God would so work this truth in our lives, that of no doubt, that when all is said and done, and we stand before Him.

It would be true, that we of a certainty, did indeed deny self picked up our crosses, and followed Jesus.

Blessings my fellow laborer in Christ.

Much love in Christ, Not me

As a new Christian many years ago, I tried to talk to my sister about the changes Jesus had made to my life but she said a leopard can't change its spots, so I said God can.

It's from the inside outwards that the Spirit of God brings about the change. :)
It is farouk, and all these years later she still doesn't want to know.

Yes, it is this change we have been called to. Such a blessing to know, that God is more willing to give it, than we are to receive it,

May Christ so shine in your heart, that your sister would be compelled to come.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

As much as may think we change ourselves and as much as might try to be better people, in the end, unless it is the Holy Spirit that has brought about that change - that bearing of spiritual fruit in us - it will not last and we will soon revert to our old ways. That inner change that makes us a new creation in Christ, must be God's work.

I just read this: "I praise God that His love for me is not based on my performance but on the once and for all finished work of Jesus Christ. When I received Christ into my life, I became part of the Father's amazing family! I am part of a family that My Heavenly Dad has promised to never abandon."

Yes, it's clear from passages such as Philippians 1.6 that it's a work that God starts and performs from within.

Indeed so. The witness of a consistent testimony can speak louder than words, sometimes.

What a awesome truth;

That this truth of, Christ being written in our hearts so that He might be read by all man.

Written there by God Himself.

That this truth would be made so real in our lives, that our hearts would rejoice before Him, and in Him.

Blessings to all that would hunger and thirst after such an expression of Him.

Great quote, isn't it? :)

I’m not quite sure God’s love for me is based on what Jesus did for me. I’m of the mind that what Jesus did for me was based on God’s love for me. God’s love for me came first. Because, “God so loved that He gave~~~”

God’s giving came first.

That is my understanding of things, but things like this divide believers and they shouldn’t. What is important is our personal relationships with Christ. If one believer believes such and such and that believers personal relationship with Christ is growing it is that growing relationship that is that that is important. If they happen to be right or wrong in a area of understanding God will in His time correct or do what He deems necessary. Our place is just to love and point to Christ who is are hope and our Savior. That their/our one and one personal relationship with Christ would grow and continue to grow and abound in all things.

Blessings to you Farouk as your personal relationship with Christ grows and abounds and may God fill you with Himself in a new and awesome way.

Much love in Christ, Not me
