I don’t work with her she’s the customer service person at the supermarket, my own supervisor is evil.
I got that, telling you about my supervisor was an example of how prayer and a friendly attitude can change things. But you should still pray for her and perhaps say something nice to her. And also be nice to your supervisor and pray for them too. Jesus told us to pray for our enemies.

I hope you see changes as a result of your prayers Johnpaul, but even if you don't just keep bringing them to God. And I too will pray for your supervisor. What is his name?

Pray for her. I used to have a stroppy supervisor where I worked and we didn't hit it off from the start. Then I started to pray for her and compliment her hair, nails, clothes etc and she soon changed towards me. So give it a try.
Amazing how long bright nails and nice hair can cause a change of such a nature within a working relationship...all to do with patience and attitude, I guess...

I ain't going there again Bobby Jo It's just like putting the same record on again !!
You like repeating yourself !
Rita

I like the verse::

Matt. 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force. -- If better rendered should read: The kingdom of heaven is obtain by pursuit, and pursuers take it by ardent action.

Christianity is not passive, or reserved, or reticent. It's bold, assertive, ardent, and assured.

If you don't want Christianity, then please default to christianity. :)

That has nothing to do with you repeating yourself and playing the same record - I merely meant that What you said has already been discussed on this thread.
Interesting verse- but not entirely sure it means what you think it means. Might make an interesting verse and passage to discuss on a seperate thread- must admit I am not sure, so it would be interesting to see what others say, in context of the passage it comes from. I will have to look at the passage myself, but not now as I have a ten hour shift to get ready for.

A ten hour shift! -- I gave up my full time eight hour shifts and "retired" to nine hour shifts on all my projects, -- but not ten. We got almost four cords worth of logs which had to be "blocked" (cut into 17" lengths), split, and stacked, and finished the last cords worth today. And we have another equally sized load waiting for us in the "wings". But in the meantime we're excavating the dirt for an approximate 3-yard concrete patio starting tomorrow, then the forms, and finishing the concrete placement (pour) late Saturday. -- Apparently you don't "pour" concrete, you "place" concrete.

Would you perchance be interested in swapping jobs for a few days? :)

Bobby Jo

PS The proposed Matthew 11:12 rendition is correct!

It was my attitude towards her that changed the working relationship farouk. Instead of letting her attitude towards me get to me I found something positive and complimentary to say to her.

No, I will pass on the job swap as I have RSI in my left elbow and lower back issues from years of cleaning - I doubt I could handle concrete , or excavating a patio- so why are you investing in these projects if you think everything is going to go to the wall in the next few years !? ( intrigued )
I did not say your rendition was wrong, I merely said I read the original differently to you and would need to study it in context.
I believe in the four faces of God represented within the four gospels - each showing a different aspect of God, but equally ( as we grow in Christ ) we in fact should infact mirror or reflect in our lives. So having authority ect is one aspect, but that is also balanced with Jesus's humanity - if you continuously go around ' shouting and yelling at people who take a different line to you ' well that may well show authority , but where is the balance. You end up sounding like a resounding gong !
So are you a Christian with a ' bigC ' in real life - just wondering as it is so much easier to ' say things ' in an authoritive way on a forum where you are not face to face with people -
I have two days off, but have to do my dads garden today, so I will look at the passage when I get back - there do seem to be different ' camps ' of interpretation with what is said - I tend to prefer to
weigh things up for myself - usually I end up somewhere in the middle with some verses !!! Lol
Hope the patio work goes well X

Just an update to everyone, been looking for new jobs, one of my two trusted friends is leaving today, he got himself another job. He got tired of the nonsense here.

So far one place doesn’t want to pay what I’m looking for, the other I’m still waiting on a response.

I want to do the Christian thing and not cause her trouble, and if I do who’s to say the supervisor won’t side with her.
Nothing may ever happen again.
You've acted correctly and should just continue to do so.
If there's a different supervisor, always look for the other one.
If there is not, and this happens again, your only alternative is
to change supermarkets. I h ad to do this once because the manager
was worse than the personnel ! I've since gone back...this was 3 years ago and the manager has changed.

Just take it a day at a time and don't worry about it too much.
It's not worth it.

Sounds like the young girl has an attitude problem.
You won't be hurting her if you ask for someone higher up:
1. they should be aware that she's not good at dealing with customers.
2. she could make them lose customers,,,the management would thank you.
3. how are YOU supposed to know the hierarchy?

So many people type "LOL" when they really didn't laugh, but I DID laugh at your OBSERVATION! So, LOL!
Yeah, our house is across the street from the FOUR grandchildren, and she wants her home to be all that she dreams of. But the cabin got the 3-plus cords of firewood, with another 3-plus pending delivery. So I guess we're both happy in our own ways, but my wife will be DOUBLY happy both at the house and at the cabin in a little less than two years from now! :)

I did not say your rendition was wrong, I merely said I read the original differently to you and would need to study it in context.
Yep! I sat in the Adult Sunday School Class when the teacher explained how Christians are persecuted. I proposed that this verse actually meant that Christians were the ones assailing the Kingdom of Heaven. He gently suggested that when I'm a little more mature in the faith that I would understand what this verse means. -- And after church, this gentlemen (Fred Farnsworth) came up to me and said that I was right, which takes a real man to hear from GOD and own up to what GOD reveals to HIS children!

Once again I Laughed Out Loud, and am still chuckling. -- Ask my poor wife, or my poor two children how I am in public, and they'll shake their heads. :) Yeah, I have no problem with defending the GOD I serve up to the point where a person rejects the message. And then his/her blood is no longer on my head, so they can go on their own way. Maybe they think about what I explained and come to a realization just like Fred Farnsworth, or maybe not. But I've done my job, much to the chagrin of anyone I'm with.

I have two days off, but have to do my dads garden today, so I will look at the passage when I get back - there do seem to be different ' camps ' of interpretation with what is said - I tend to prefer to

I wish I could help with the garden and have an iced tea with your dad. We lose so much wisdom for not sitting down and listening to our elders.
And yesterday the "Bobcat" got the dirt to grade, so today we'll set the forms. -- Did you say you were only busy on ONE of your TWO days off? :)

Take good care, and give my best regards to your father,
Bobby Jo
