I encourage you to THINK. Saul (Paul) was so religious that he went about persecuting and having all those that believed Jesus was the Christ killed. He believed he was doing God a favor. The RCC persecuted all those that would not believe what they believed and calling them Heretics had them killed. And here you are with the same attitude of imposing your belief's on others and if they refuse you castigate them. Your attitude is that you are the only one that is right and it is you doing God a favor by criticizing them for their beliefs.

Personally I see no difference between what Saul and the RCC did and what you are doing. I believe that if you were living in the dark ages you would do the same thing the RCC did. With your attitude there is no way I can believe as you do.
Hi H.Richard,
Although I agree with what you have said about Saul , and the RCC I think it is a big assumption to presume that Justbyfaith would follow the same route. Saul had not encounter Christ, and if I am honest , I am not too sure about others encountering him on a personal level in the dark ages either.
Isn't that a big factor in how they acted, I might not agree with Justbyfaith , but I have never questioned whether or not he has encountered Christ.
So I will have to disagree with your assumption xx

FYI, an historical note:

"Elizabeth Arden was a huge advocate for women’s rights. In 1912, Arden alongside 15,000 other suffragettes marched past her Red Door Salon in New York, all wearing red lipstick. Red lipstick became a symbol of unity and power among women’s rights activists."

Yes, I remember the discussion on your thread about red lipstick. However my comment on this thread about the lipstick, was more to do with the strict rules that some churches place on what women can do. Some Strict baptist churches would frown upon women wearing bright lispstick, in fact a friend of mine relayed to me that a pastor stopped his sermon and had a go at one such lady who chose to wear lipstick to church - conveyed that she would be condemned to hell for it ( hell and brimstone preaching )

Hmm. I wonder what Paul would think of the internet. Would he say it was okay for men to tell women what to do on the internet? To answer questions from women?

it reads this was a greek custom..

1Co 11:16, But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

i do hate to bust your bubble but your belief on women role in church is way off.

You haven't "bursted my bubble". While I understand that you have a different viewpoint, it does not change my viewpoint one bit; for I see that my viewpoint is biblical.

like Ezra, I see a cultural context,

1Co 11:16, But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

You interpreted my stand on cultural wrongly, and if you honestly believe that churches didn't, and dont have customs, then I would say you are on another planet !
However, as I said it's pointless- by the way I learnt how to take cultural context into account through bible study, through looking at scripture while studying at the London bible college. So dont presume that yours is the only biblical conclusion.
I have no idea why I have added this as I know it wont make an ounce of difference !!

We are living in very different times than 2000 years ago. Kinda hard for my wife to keep calm in the presence of ignorant men. lol. She is hyper-intelligent and loves her LORD Jesus! What do you think goes through her mind when she is talking, to a brother in christ, and she is like a foot taller than him? And the brother in christ is being, as usual or many times, a MALE? My wife is almost 6'0 ft. Yea some Men may, or have no choice, but look up to my wife whether they like it or not! Just saying. lol

Becareful when talking to women that are much taller than the average man. They can get pretty Jockish! lol......by the way Im 6'3, she looks up to me ;) lol

My wife would have a FEW THINGS TO SAY TO PAUL!! LOL
I think he would be a fascinating man to sit down and talk to -all Paul did was write personal letters to the groups of Christians he was endeavouring to encourage - to sort out issues that he knew , and he also knew all the facts ect ( I think many forget that these were personal letters) They were added to the scriptures, so they were relevant- but it's that relevance that is viewed in different ways.
It's not really Paul that has created the issues , its men who have interpreted everything literally and made it a law, which has then been established through the generations, in many cases adding to the issue between men and women.

It's alright, perhaps you are right...I know that I have been wrong on certain issues before (even in the recent past) so I am not going to belabour the issue any more.

LOL! You're making me laugh! :)

I'm on the short side, so not too many men look up to me in that way, LOL, but I hope that men who love Jesus can respect the fact that I love Him and have been walking with Him for many years. So I've learned a thing or two.

This is where I believe that "in Christ there is no male or female," as Paul said. We can all learn from each other as we share the lessons He has taught us--some of these lessons learned as we have spent time in the furnace of affliction.
