The biblical God is not a monster.
Every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess Him as Lord.
The saints in Rev.19 praise Him for His righteous judgment.
Some have no fear to call the God of Scripture a monster when His attributes are declared. This is sad proof they worship a different god of their own making. Luke 19:14.

Yes sadly brother they think it is a small thing to profane our Holy God.
Sometimes people ask, what is the danger of attending a church where people are "moving in the gifts", being "slain in the spirit" speak and pray in gibberish.
The thing is, they are moving in the flesh, are many times not really Spirit-baptized at all. They settle for a form of godliness but deny the actual power which they try and work up in the flesh, to get a false sense of security.
Correct biblical teaching rather than being welcomed, or properly questioned is considered an"unloving" thing.
In truth, it is the truth that would set them free.
ironically, those who boast of Spiritual gifts seem the most defective on God-glorifying truth.
i believe that truth will surface and win out, as it delights to be investigated. Truth not accompanied by the enabling of the Spirit is resisted just as the Luke 19 passage indicates as you offered. Thanks for that solid observation and post.

@Willie T For your edification and I love you brother. Many want an Omnipotent God in Christ and this is all they want. They don't want a Soverign God in Christ because their desire is human supremacy instead of Christ Supremacy. :(

"Every breath you take is borrowed! Really, you are stealing that breath." Thank Jesus every time you take a breath......

and many others sacrifice Christ character for sovereignty - just like the Israelites did with the Father

Yes, The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all outside of Jesus.
That's why Paul was not ashamed of the gospel as the only safe place for sinners.
God is angry with the wicked, everyday
Hi Anthony,

To be clear,

Romans 1
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

God reveals His wrath from heaven against ungodliness and unrighteousness.

His wrath in this day . . .

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

God gives men over to their corrupted and rejected minds, and they become lost into their sin.

Those who are not forever lost to their sin are not under this wrath, I don't think. There are those who will be redeemed, I believe.

And Yes, Jesus, the only Safe Haven!

Much love!

Yes...Joel Osteen. He is a good motivational speaker. Nothing more. I preach more Gospel, in one post on here, than Osteen preaches all year.

he has never really claimed to be more....unless he is talking to the IRS

IMHO....what many call a motivational speaker is what the Bible tells us to do....to exhort, uplift and encourage one another. I also know that he preaches the message of salvation and deliverance and he has led hundreds to Christ. So what's the main issue critics have with him? How can you quantify who preaches more gospel? If you can do a better job are you out there preaching a whole entire congregation?
I am not trying to be mean or rude....I simply do not believe in bashing other ministers who are winning souls to Christ and neither should you or any of us. It is God who called him to preach and it is God who has equipped him with the right tools to do it.

unfortunately some Christian fail to see Christ in a preacher who isn’t an arrogant jerk. It is too bad that arrogance seems to be a prerequisite to a pastorship

We will agree to disagree on Osteen. We are in the end times, Satan doesn't have much time left, neither do I at 51. Sorry I just cannot and will not give an inch to anyone that preaches half truths. I'm not judging. I'm not trying to be mean. But when I see a Spade I am gonna call it a Spade. Did Jesus Christ preach "feel good" sermons? No! Jesus was loving, but when he needed to "drop the hammer" he did! What did Jesus tell the adulterous woman? Go home and sin no more. There are many more examples in the Gospels.

This is one of the reasons many in Jesus's time and even today Reject Jesus! Because they would rather live in their SIN and do not want anyone telling them otherwise.
Here it goes again, Human Supremacy trumping Christ Supremacy. By the way I'm a sinner and hate it. I continue to repent everyday. My profile info testifies to this.

Maybe I'm all wrong about Osteen. It would not hurt him to "drop the hammer" a few times. Ahhhh, but then his church numbers would start to drop. Wouldn't want that to happen.

My Lord And Savior Is Not A "SISSIFIED NEEDY JESUS", But HE is a GOD of WRATH!!
I'm not sure exactly who preaches about "a sissified needy Jesus", but we need to always maintain a proper balance between the grace of God and the wrath of God.

We are presently in the Age (or Dispensation) of Grace. The Dispensation of the Gospel. The Church Age. Which means that the grace of God and the salvation of God is being offered to all mankind through the Gospel.

However, this will not last forever, and the time of wrath and divine judgment will come fairly soon. So the proper balance is given in John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

So when the Gospel is preached, every hearer must understand that failure to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ invites the wrath of God. Indeed the Bible says that God now commands ALL MEN EVERYWHERE to repent (Acts 17:30).
But obedience to the Gospel results in salvation and the gift of eternal life.

olsteen has a target audience who appreciates him. If you have grown past his message don’t judge those who have not. Kindergarten teachers are important, but chances are, they make poor academic researchers

Everyone's perception of God is really a reflection of themselves.
We create 'our' God in our own image.
If you are a legally minded, unforgiving, and penal person then that is how you will perceive God to be.
And ditto for the opposites, and all the shades in between.
The 'Hellfire' scriptures were written during a barbaric age when offenders were regularly Crucified and crowds gathered to 'enjoy' an offender's excruciating pain and torment.
So what does God do with people who seem to delight in imagining others being tormented in hellfire? Why not let them experience it themselves? Let them have what they crave for others. If people want hellfire to exist, maybe God says, "Okay, let it exist. Let me know when you no longer want it to exist."

Proverbs 26:27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

If hellfire didn't exist, God might have to invent it to satisfy some people. I say careful what we wish for.

it’s possible. Gods desire is to save us, not judge us and then though us away - he sacrificed His Son for us - it is safe to say, He is all in. And when was the last time you saw God lose?

I have not personally heard him preach any half truths...can you cite anything in reference to this that he has preached that is a half truth?
