Friday 1-31-20, Shebat 5, 5780 6th. day of the weekly cycle, 42nd. Winter day

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Joel Two:31

Joel Two:28-32 KJV

Last Events Before The Terrible Day Of The Lord:

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

Acts Two:20 KJV

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

Love always, Walter and Debbie

To us it is like the scriptures is saying, how it is to you?
Since I don't believe in contradictions in the Bible, I would like to know the answer and the Truth.

Is this verse describing God's Spirit being removed during the same Time Frame as Joel 2:28?

2 Thessalonians 2:7
"For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way"

If Yes, then this is a contradiction.

If No, then perhaps someone can help me out as to why it is not.

Some possible answers...

*) Two different Time Frames
*) The Restrainer is NOT God's Spirit, but something else
*) Or...?

I don't believe in contradictions as far as the scriptures in context either, but, you are asking: Is this verse describing God's Spirit being removed during the same Time Frame as Joel 2:28?

I believe that scripture is a prophecy of what will happen:

The meaning of Joel 2:28-3:21 relates to a prophecy about the future that began after Jesus’ return to heaven. The prophecy begins with a description of the new ministry of the Holy Spirit (Joel Two:28-29), refers to the return of Jesus Christ, the battle of Armageddon (Joel 3:1-17) and ends with the 1,000 year, earthly kingdom (Joel 3:18-21).

Love always, Walter

This is the same as this passage, only in other words:

Revelation 8:1
"When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour."

Both are "the shadow of death."

I think we could learn so very much more from the Bible if we didn't have this incessant desire gnawing at us to eagerly and gleefully ferret-out calamities, catastrophes, and fire & brimstone. We are like moths drawn to the flame of mayhem and destruction.

This is the same as this passage, only in other words:

Revelation 8:1
"When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour."

Revelation 6:12-13 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; [13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Then the silence in heaven for about an hour came after?

Not exactly. You see, there is no actual timeline. Those events are with God, in God, whom is the same yesterday, today, and forever. They are simply written revelations in story form.

Better then to hear from God in the way that He exists, rather than the way we think we exist.

So...all of the seals, all the everything, and also the silence in heaven, does not denote an order of time, but rather all that is in God: "I am", not "and then, and then, etc.." Which means the story, history, His story, is simply and personally being told to us in a way that we can know God...and come to know ourselves, as He reveals our part of the story to us. In the end, good or evil, we will all say "I am", and it will be true by our own witness.

What do references to the sun and moon represent in other parts of the Bible?
Just who it is that rules what:

Genesis 1:16
"Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also."

Not exactly. You see, there is no actual timeline

get what you are saying but was only pointing out the sixth seal and the seventh. The sixth being Revelation 6:12-13 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair(Mourning), and the moon became as blood; [13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Revelation 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

Still “time” is how He chooses to reveal it, sixth seal, seventh seal...even if it was instantaneous. Joshua tells of when time stood still and why: “And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. [14] And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.”

Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Joshua pointing to “the silence”
The text does say that the sun stopped. The Hebrew uses two words damanand amad which have the idea "to stop."

The word translated stand still (Heb dom) means literally to be silent and frequently has the sense cease or leave off (cf. Ps. 35:15; La. 2:18). Similarly the word translated stayed (Heb amad), stood still in v. 13b, has the sense of cease.

...to leave off. Luke 4:17-20 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, [18] The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, [19] To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. [20] And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

What happened during that silence?

That is desperate rabbit trail chasing of which I was not even asking. (Besides, don't you know the moon is not even a "light?") Go to Joseph's dream for just one example, of many, where you are told what the sun and moon represent in Scripture.

Bingo...

Sun = Father
Moon = Mother
Stars = Children

Now think of this verse as the Moment of Conception within the Womb...

Revelation 6:12
"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood"

The Sun is the Male Seed. The Moon is the Female Seed.

Here come the Children...

Revelation 6:13
"And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind"

It would appear to be that the birth of a wicked generation is being portrayed here.

The same Father/Mother vs. Sun/Moon theme can be found here...

Revelation 12:1
"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars"

I believe the Woman is Sarah.

The Moon is her Seed. The Sun is the Seed of Abraham. The Stars are the Children of Promise.

Again, it is a picture of the Moment of Conception.

However, instead of a Wicked Generation being birthed, it is the Righteous.
