Could you expand?
Sorry . . . I think we naturally gravitate towards those we feel are "better", and God does not want us to overlook those who don't have that nice polish.

Condescend to those of low estate . . . set aside your tender sensitivities and make friends with the poor, the dirty, the crude, those whom society considers "less than".

Much love!

There is a very complicated social dynamic goin on here.

There may be trolls, but they will not stick around long. Same goes for those with overtly evil intention.

Of those here some are seeking fellowship, they are put off by the conflict.

There are those pushing an agenda, their every post drives home some point. These cause conflict, especially among those with opposing agendas.

There are those seeking to help others, they keep the peace.

When someone disagrees there are vastly different methods of persuasion. I disagree with the hostile approach, or the verbose approach. If someone loves the truth they will not need to be beaten with it.

Now we get to the crux of the issue. Since God is Truth should we prioritize doctrine over love for neighbor? Perhaps not for disputable matters, But no one can agree on what is a disputable matter these days.

My personal preference is to leave people to their errors after one warning by anyone, as I am not able to convince anyone. It is only those who love the truth that I would be willing to carry on a discussion about doctrines.
I’m here to witness the hypocrisy of each poster, it helps me to better identify mine.

Enow already posted it.

I understand the attempt at levity in this thread, but I don't consider that a laughing matter when those saints involved in that "holy laughter" movement are at risk of being left behind when the Bridegroom comes.

1 Corinthians 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Anyway, I am sure there are other ways for humor in this thread, but I cannot laugh at that one.

Hi folks :)
The reason I ask is because I have only been here a little over a week and was nicely welcomed, but shortly after that at least one welcomer who really post's a lot here,
turned on me and attacked me pretty harshly, and then a woman here did the same thing. Hey , I've only been here a week and consider myself a pretty, friendly guy, and pretty happy.
I ended up using the "IGNORE Feature" and that helped a lot.

But boy, after reading other posts and topics and how people go at it with each other, with NO LOVE INTENDED, It feels like I'm on one of my other Non-Christian forums, where people like to tear into each other brutally, with no intentions but to destroy their perceived foes..
I thought there was supposed to be a difference
.
I came here to enjoy sharing in Christ's word, and sharing in different opinions and different perspectives, but I'm wondering how to do that now.

I'm not a fighter and wouldn't think I should need THICK SKIN to be here, but it's almost like people come here to be "GLADIATORS" to fight in the arena of Christian warfare.

I didn't come here to "SURVIVE", but hoped to THRIVE, but maybe that isn't the point here.

Maybe someone here can help me out, and give me some advise - like maybe ...run for your life:).

John 3:29 KJV
[29] He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Notice how it doesn’t say He that will have, this was fullfiment

My friend Enow
I know nothing about the Holy Laughter movement.

Our Lord and Savior gave us the examples of being full of joy at the wedding, eating and drinking, as well going to the house of the tax gatherer and ate and drank there too, as in both cases the rest of the world was suffering and in pain.

Jesus in His example, shows us that when we aren't suffering like the rest of the world and in great pain as most of us have experienced, we are encouraged to live a life full of joy as He did, and drew people to Him wanting the same Joy He exhibited, and we should to, to draw others to the same joy we can offer the world, that the whole world is seeking beyond their own misery.

No one is drawn to a miserable Christian, and my whole life is about drawing others to Christ, as I'm sure yours is to, with great joy.

We will continue to share in great joy with one another, and your invited to be part of that wonderful joy.

May God bless you with His greatest joy.

Oh, my, I hope I wasn't that woman.... :( If I haven't welcomed you to CB, welcome!

I think part of the problem with the harshness is that we don't see what effect our words have on each other. Forums tend to have the feel of anonymity. As Christians, we are the Church. We need to treat each other the way we would treat Christians who attend our church.... My advice to you is to hang in there. It is possible to find good fellowship here.

Christianity is a very serious topic. It's about life and death. There's bound to be very austere approaches to discussing one's view.
This is not a Netflix forum or Sports channel, where being over-zealous or impassioned would seem misguided. It's about a very serious issue, to the point that some opinions or interpretations can truly get offensive, and thus elicit a certain level of indignation. For example, any advocacy of Benny Hinn, would compel me to be a rather overt about my contempt, and abrupt and uncompromising in my approach. But, with explanation!
I would expect the same from others.
Again, this is about Jesus Christ, a truly eminent and enigmatic figure, and about God's unfathomable Word of Salvation. It is extremely controversial!
Be prepared to be serious, and convicted of your positions. There is a time for levity and fellowship within these discussions, but more importantly and prevalent, it's about rightly dividing God's Word of eternal life, ....views and sentiments are bound to get dogmatic and accusative.
Diplomacy is always recommended, but it does tend to get compromised under such circumstances.
