Of what we read in the scriptures what do you suppose the burden of the Apostles was? What was it that they spoke of to their hearers? What was their primary thrust in all their letters? .....and, why should it be any different today?
What do you think they told the people re The Kingdom of God?The kingdom of God. Spiritual people want others to join them where they are...just like Jesus wants us to join Him where He is....in Zion. It's about the higher kind of life we can live in....the eternal life.

Is the question too difficult Epi?First you need to state what you are trying to say in the OP.
Do you understand the kingdom of God? Have you experienced the eternal walk?
Hey Joseph, wake up!..... the word 'burden' is used in the sense of what weighs on your heart not in the sense of oppression but in the sense of what gets your mojo going...what fires you up with enthusiasm.God's Kingdom A BURDEN ? Living in Resurrection Life abiding in Jesus , one with Him and with the Father !! a burden?
Somewhere in Scripture, I don't remember where, there is a message from God about a so-called "burden".....
hey!!!! No need to make a mountain out of a molehill. Understand the original question and address that :)and more for clarity, eventually:
Jeremiah 23:38 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
Lamentations 2:14 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

I thought you'd be keen to have a go at answering Epi. Why am I asking this?.....The boards are full of all manner of lengthy explanations about all manner of things yet when it comes to what we imagine the disciples told people re the Kingdom of God folk seem to be stumped.First you need to state what you are trying to say in the OP.
Do you understand the kingdom of God? Have you experienced the eternal walk?
Seeing you're fond of quoting Jeremiah, here I think is what quietthinker was intending by the use of the word 'burden'... Particularly as it relates to people in ministry...starting search for "burden" to find previously mentioned reference:
Jeremiah 17:22 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
Jeremiah 17:24 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
Jeremiah 17:27 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
Jeremiah 23:33 | View whole chapter | See verse in context
And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.
It was along the lines of Jeremiah 20:9 as brakelite rightly quoted. '.....But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.'Hi Quietthinker
You know I sometimes go back in my mind and try and imagine things from the prospective of those people thousands of years ago.....we know that the Kingdom progressed and grew, we know that the gospel message has been heard around the world, but the Apostles were the ones that were first commissioned with that .........they didn’t have the prospective of time. They knew that the hearers of the word would be carrying on their message, but had no way of knowing if it would survive...........they saw people come to faith, but they also saw how things crept in that were not of God. Not sure if this is what you mean, but sometimes a sense of responsibility , a care and concern for the world , a desire to see the hearts of men and women change, can be a burden that drives people to persevere ....to keep going.
is that what you meant ,or something else ? Rita
