John 1:1 is all you need to know, dare i say if you doubt the bible you doubt the one who has came and the one who will come.

I do think it is very important to understand the Word in John1:1 was referring to the Word that was in the very beginning and was God.
It was before there was paper and pen. (or planets!)
It was/is the Word as in Uni-verse ---The One Word that permeates all of existence.
It has been a difficult concept for the Christians I speak to to understand, " What do you mean... there is a Word that runs through everything?
That was in the beginning and is here right now? And it's not the Bible? I thought the Word was the Bible?"
" No.The Word was in the b-e-g-i-n-n-i-n-g."
The Bible is not God's Word. John 1:1 is not speaking about the Bible. The Bible is not God. There are two Word's of God, the Bible is the "letter that killeth". Too many worship the Bible as a god. The Bible is full of human man made errors, that is why God sent the Holy Spirit to "lead and guide us into ALL truth. Corn (word of God), the wine (the revelation of the spirit), and the oil (the anointing). You need all three or all you hae is a dead letter.

Thats pure junk and i rebuke such junk in the name of jesus, the bible is in no way a dead letter its gods own personal love letter to us as christians to live by and to walk by with god. Look at scriptures see what god says on the matter Luke 11:28, Hebrews 4:12, Luke 8:21, James 3:11 and James 3:12. Pay very close attention to James though ben you cant be fliipy floppy in gods word and doubt the living word so much and proclaim to be a christian. Like i have been preaching you either beleive or you dont beleive there is no gray area in gods word.
Rom 8:1[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, whowalk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Gal 5:16[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
If you think that John 1 is referring to the bible your thinker is broken.![]()

gumby,
May I ask you a question to get clear on your thinking?
When St. John says that In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God....and became flesh...
are you saying or thinking that that Word is the Bible? (We know it became flesh , Jesus.)
Thank you - and I've always wondered when you call someone "friend' are you saying that in a snide way or is it your way of really expressing
commradery ---for me I always get struck in my chest that it sounds snotty - but that's just "me".
I have no idea, really, where you are coming from. Just curious as how I should be taking it. Thank you again.
I was planning on asking you privately - but I hope it 's alright to ask here.
Miss Hepburn
the word of god was made flesh true. it was also written down. the words that he spoke are life to those that believe. :) without the book how would we believe?faith comes by?Can you explain to me how Heb 10:7 relates to what George said above. Thanks.
It did seem like apples and oranges to me - what am I missing?
Im saying that the bible is the word of god yes, im also saying that once you read the bible you will understand that the men who wrote these books were hearing gods voice speak and radiate and pound through there thoughts and there entire being. So that being said if the voice of god dwelt within the men who wrote the bible than the voice of god dwells with us as well and we are able to hear and see not what men are saying but what god is saying. And i use the term friend as a peacefull term not as a word to degrade people.
Yes, and I understand and agree - the Bible is inspired by God Himself or the Holy Spirit - I don't know if I have my
terms correct - but I think you know what I mean.
yes
So are you saying that the Word that St. John spoke of ---as "In the beginning" was Jesus? I think you are.
So the spirit of God or Jesus indwells each word written down called the Bible?
I think I am understanding you. I mean it comes directly from the Almighty Lord, right?
yes,yes :)
I'd like to confirm that before asking anything else, if that's ok.
yes ;)
And with just what has been said - Benoni if you're reading this could you agree with the above also? Before moving on?
Just on this, I think you 2 agree -except - that Benoni believes men have altered and made changes ----which would be Man's mistake - not God's fault if it were true. Doesn't take away from God inspiring these men originally, would it? I mean if you believed it.
Without going further what do you 2 think? To get a basis of some agreement .
With no big tangents.
