Did Jesus describe God as a hypostatic union here?....

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Well Context determines much in SCripture. Jesus is speaking of worship to the Father with the Samaritan woman. Also at this point in His earthly ministry, He was still in the phase of announcing the long awaited kingdom promised to Israel was there.

I thought you guys(trins) teach Jesus is coequal?

No more equal, but is lower in rank?

A captain is an equal with a general?

Well in that Godhead is co-equal in their divinity and eternal (meaning none were created) yes they are. But as to position in the Godhead? NO the Father is above the Son who is above the Spirit in position.

Col 1 By Him all things were created.
Gen 1 God created the heavens and the earth.

Let's take a look at the creation...

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word(G3056), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

λόγος
logos

Thayer Definition:
1) of speech
1a) a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea
1b) what someone has said

Ok so HOW did God create?...

Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

God spoke with "logos" (speech) thus created.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten(G3439) of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

μονογενής
monogenēs

Thayer Definition:
1) single of its kind, only
1a) used of only sons or daughters (viewed in relation to their parents)
1b) used of Christ, denotes the only begotten son of God

People have been indoctrinated to believe the "logos" was a "person" from eternity.

Jesus was in the plan and mind of God from the beginning, but not as a "person" until he was born of a virgin, Mary.

God Bless!

No! That was just Jesus' way of asking tricky questions to reveal the truth.
Please elaborate on what Jesus was trying to convey in this particular statement....

18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

....does it appear to you that Jesus was saying only God was good(not himself)?

Well The Father is God above all . But calling Him a Gods' God may be not so accurate. There are only three beings that are God! As to position, yes He is God's God, as to His nature, there are only three that are God.
1+1+1=1?

How can that be?

He said none of the such that you suggested in this verse....

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Long, drawn out explanations can't make Jesus' description of what God consists of in the verse irrelevant.

General to Colonel to Private?

The RCC would be flabbergasted to hear someone say the members of the trinity out rank each other.

Try this...

There is no 3 persons, but there is only a Divine Father and a human son....

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

It appears to me that Jesus was trying to get this fellow to think.

Much love!

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

All things were created from God through His Word. And the Messiah is the Word of God made flesh. He is the image of God in the flesh, the image of his mind in the flesh. And the mind of God has been recognized through the words spoken by the Messiah.
John 1 The Word was God. The Word became flesh!
Jesus is God!

It is not a secret in the Bible I read:

"Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19

This is not even a doctrine, you do know what a doctrine is right? Just mentioning The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit in the same Scripture doesn't make a doctrine.
