Repenting from your sins....

IS THE SALVATION OF GOD...

If you repent from your sins...WILL THIS NOT SAVE YOU FROM YOUR SINS?

If you repent from your sins...WILL THIS NOT LEAD YOU TO THE FATHER?

I lean pretty heavily on the Cross of Christ in this area. I sometimes wonder if there ever existed a tribe or a family or even a single person, who said to himself, "today I will sin no more, I choose to never again sin." You would think at least one person had the ability to do that in the billions of them that have been on earth. But Paul saw it differently. He said that everyone has sinned, and John the Apostle said that whoever says they have not sinned is a liar.

If it was based upon any strength or ability I had, to not commit sin, then why would I need a Savior? I could just stop, or repent as some would have it, and then I could be saved on my own merits, couldn't I? But there is no one who could do that, nor will there ever be anyone. Death and sin go hand in hand, and as long as there is death, there is sin. For by one man's sin, death entered into the world.

The only thing that "saves" me is my belief that Jesus Christ died, was entombed, and rose again out from among the dead, and everything that goes along with that. I mean, I really, really believe it. You could press me all day long to convince me it didn't happen, but I'll swear til the day I am buried, He really did die, got buried, and rose again from the dead. Its a fact and I believe it. It's His ballgame, and His rules, and I can see why, after all He went through. Even if I sin one hundred times today, even if I willfully do it, I still owe my allegience to Him, and He is my Lord and my God. In fact, I probably will sin at least one hundred times today, in thought, word or action.
O wretched man that I am, who will rescue me out of this body of death? Christ the Justifier, Christ the Redeemer, Christ the Lord of all! What we could not, He did do.

Amen Fivesense, Jesus is my righteousness.

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross. This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

Repenting from your sins....

Jesus said apart from Him we (you and me)can do nothing. I think religion has taken the results of encountering Christ and tried to turn them into requisites for encountering Christ.

I do not care how you see it or how Paul saw it.

I do not care that you lean more on the fact that they hung Jesus on the cross.

I am not called to make you believe what Jesus said.

I am called to preach repentance to those who have the faith to believe what Jesus sent me to preach.

You do not have the faith to believe that God is able to make you free from committing sin.

So this message is not for you.

Ah, yes... Love at its finest. I am touched by your empathy and warmth. You make a fine example of exactly what you are.
