Good rebuttal. I had forgot about Moses and the serpent rod.
Let me tell you about the serpent!

Revelation 20:1-3--Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the abyss and a great chain in his hand. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for 1,000 years. He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the 1,000 years were completed. After that, he must be released for a short time.

I think @Giuliano was refering to this passage:

John 3:14-15

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Not that I worship a serpent, cause I don't.

I know what he was referring to, and this scripture is sometimes misused to say that the serpent in the Bible is good, even the serpent in the Garden who lied to Eve.

I'm glad that you don't worship the serpent. :)

I think I see what you're getting at.

Genesis 22:1-2

22 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Lol, I don't think you see at all. The serpent is the devil. God is NOT the devil! The devil is NO match for our omnipotent God.

Did you read the scripture from Revelation I quoted? Who is it that throws the devil into the abyss and locks the door? It's an angel! God won't have to do it. He'll just send one of His angels to do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Praise our sovereign God!!!!!!!!!!

I find it perfectly fine to participate in as long as it's used for relaxation and exercise only. I mostly love just to close my eyes, relax, and concentrate on happy and positive things. (Why I close my eyes when I'm relaxed I don't know but it does help me a lot for concentration. :) )
You are probably okay, but there can be a few dangers.

Let me start off with a personal story. I had a friend who was a very fine guy; but he wound up in a mental institution. Most people can practice yoga or meditation without harm, but there are hidden dangers.

Jesus' commandment was to seek first the kingdom and all the other things will be added. He also stressed the need to have a pure heart.

The hidden danger with yoga or meditation is that one can raise the kundalini energy prematurely -- before being ready to handle it. It can enter the heart chakra and then the heart corrupts that energy in ways that may not be apparent to the person himself.

It is more dangerous to try to raise the kundalini up to the inner eye chakra via meditation or yoga. Jesus mentioned that chakra too, calling it the "single eye." If that single eye is pure and in light, it's wonderful to have the kundalini reach it; indeed miracles can be performed that way. But if the inner eye has a slight impurity or darkness and kundalini enters, it can exit, going out into the world -- and that can take someone into the area of black magic without his knowing what's going on. There are some "Christian" "miracle workers who perform their miracles using kundalini without knowing it, and sometimes they fall into black magic too.

I think you'll probably be okay if you are meditating on good things. That is a sound Christian doctrine.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Do not be surprised however if "bad" or "unwanted" thoughts show up. Don't resist them, don't fight them. Just look at them. See them for what they are. Don't feel ashamed or embarrassed by any thought -- just look at it. Some people never see their own ugly thoughts which then continue to brew and stew. Sometimes too, the ugly thoughts aren't really ours but were given to us from other people. Children can have their minds poisoned at times -- and they think the nasty thoughts are their own when really they aren't their thoughts at all.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Let the "bad" thoughts finish themselves if they show up while you're trying to meditate peacefully. They'll finish themselves, and then you can say, "No, I don't think so." It can clear out some of the rubbish hiding in our minds.

If you want, I can give you directions on how to use a meditation exercise to purify the heart chakra. I was not a believer in the chakras that much until one day when I was meditating, my heart chakra opened and bloomed like a flower with twelve petals. It really was true then, the human heart has 12 pathways in and out just as the Holy City above does.

Yeah you don't seem to be coherent here. So I guess I don't know what you mean by: "this scripture is sometimes misused to say that the serpent in the Bible is good, even the serpent in the Garden who lied to Eve."

This is not the truth. People who play with fire, ALWAYS get burned!

And mixing truth with lies is probably worse than outright lying. You are speaking evil.

@Giuliano you will be held accountable by Almighty God for leading people away from the truth if they are deceived by any of the lies that you are speaking. If this happens, I would not want to be you on Judgment Day!

I could probably find the conversation between you and me a while back about your involvement in Kundalini Yoga. Is this what you're talking about?

Is this what you believe? How can a Christian say such a thing???
.
Good luck finding such a thread since I've never been involved in yoga that much -- I have a book on it and think I tried a few simple posture exercises. I have never attempted to raise kundalini using yoga. I think you're a very confused, troubled person to have said such a thing.

2 Cor 10: 3-6--For though we live in the body, we do not wage war in an unspiritual way, since the weapons of our warfare are not worldly, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every high-minded thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive to obey Christ. And we are ready to punish any disobedience, once your obedience has been confirmed.

You're promoting this evil practice, but you've never done it??? Oh, I see that you said you've never been involved "much."

I guess this really does't matter. Your promoting it as being scriptural is evil.

Strange fire, perhaps. But I tell you all sacrifices must be offered up to God with fire . . . and salt.
And mixing truth with lies is probably worse than outright lying. You are speaking evil.

Don't worry about being me on Judgment Day. Guard your own tongue so you stop the misrepresentations and accusations of others.

You are losing your marbles. I warned people saying there were some dangers in it -- that unexpected things can happen.

@Giuliano I don't speak with a forked tongue. Not once have I said I'm a Christian while promoting demonic practices using scripture to support them. You have!

This is NOT the truth! These practices amount to an invitation to demons.

Good for you. Many people cannot really discern what are their own ideas and what were "injected" into their minds from the outside. The goal should be to return to being as innocent as a little child . . . before the "ideas" from the world came and confused us, even making us think the bad ideas were ours -- so we felt guilty and shame and wanted to pretend we didn't have such thoughts. Get back to being a child -- they aren't really your thoughts!

and thats not "closer to God," iyo?
hmm

Yes it brought me closer to God. And to be honest I was freed of childhood entanglements, but also meditation can make one selfish I think, at least it did for me. So it kinda healed me but channeled me away from Christ a little. But I was in church at the time and I was steered back shortly thereafter.
