I don't believe sickness comes from God. And just to SAY 'in Jesus name' doesn't necessarily mean that it is. Before I pray I ask the Holy Spirit what I should pray for and then I know I am praying according to God's will and from my own heart or head. I haven't very often been led to pray for healing but for peace and fortitude and similar things. If God told me to pray for healing then I would have the faith to do so.
Jesus is God's will

it's ok to pray for peace and fortitude, if Jesus is in us we will have His peace and fortitude ... but Jesus di not say to the sick, the hungry or naked, "go thy way have peace and fortitude"

Jesus is God's will ...

See this guy is venting basically because he can't get answers to prayers. So when people are sick instead of getting to grips with Jesus about it in prayer they run to this meeting or that meeting or this preacher or that preacher, this book or that book and they get told mebbe it's God's will that they should be sick or desperately poor or needy in some other way, mebbe God is teaching them, mebbe it's because they are not holy or humble, mebbe they should be strong or at peace.

But Jesus never said these things to the sick and needy. All these teachings are doctrines of men, they destroy faith.

I don't think you get what I'm saying Billy. I read a book by a lady who had been crippled and ina wheelchair for years. She was a Christian and people had prayed for her for years but she was still crippled. Then after about ten years of suffering she was in a meeting and told her to ask a lady who was a new Christian to pray for her. The lady was astonished and at first was reluctant to do so but in the end she did and the wheelchair bound lady was healed. That was praying in accordance with God's will. If you ask him what to pray he will tell you so you know you are praying what he wants you to pray. Tacking on 'in the name of Jesus' to the end of a prayer of your own desires doesn't necessarily make it God's will.

It's not always easy to get a point across in writing so I still don't know if I've made it clear.

Quite frankly, I could care less what soul thinks. :)

How are you doing this fine evening brother? Aside from dealing with and swatting the gnat and all I mean. (HUGS) :)

Much better. Putting my confidence in God and that God lead me to the Chris Yoon videos made a big difference. Ever since when I listen to the radio or look at my email the verses about trusting and resting in God always comes forward lately which is great. I started this thread so angry I could see read and I wanted to strike but I end here at peace still a little uneasy but more at peace.

I am mad, I am betrayed by many, I hurt, I am depressed. I and many others prayed and you know what we got bupkis, that's what we got. I am sick and freak-in tried of people giving verse after verse after verse as if that will help anything. I am sick of people quoting verse about the end times. I am SICK OF IT ALL!

We pray and pray, nothing happens in most cases. I have prayed consistently to get healed, bupkis again. I prayed for a wheelchair van for four frakin years, my Church prayed but still it took four years. I prayed so my parents wouldn't die yet they did six hours apart. Every time I took it to prayer and I just prayed in thanksgiving many times. So now we put all our trust in God, prayed to Him and nothing. Millions of people prayed for the right thing to be done and nothing.

Don't tell me prayer works anymore. To be a Christian is to court massive disappointment

And you have the nerve to call me "loony toon?' Your OP? Don't you know that we are not robots or forced to love him? The Lord keeps a hands off approach, to his creation, as much as possible. Otherwise, the term "Free Will" would not justify his true Love. God Bless You!

Thanks Pearl I'm not really getting at you, can't you see sis the way God works? she needed the prayer of a new christian, someone who had not imbibed years of men's doctrines

Look I gotta say, it's not even that folks go after these ministries, but people sit soaking themselves in the teachings of unbelief, the doctrines of men. They neither have faith [that faith which brings results] to pray and minister or faith to believe.

These teachings are dishonest

I've prayed and received miracles for folks but there have been times when the anointing and the faith just wasn't there and I've refused to pray and I told them why "I just don't have the faith" don't make up some cock and bull story about it not being God's will or God's time and all the things they teach to cover their embarrassment.

I don't blame the person who came for prayer, it is not their lack of faith, the lacking is in the ministry, in me ... it certainly isn't God.

There are loads of reasons why the ministry is defective.

The church is simply not set up to minister, where are the healers, the workers of miracles, the prophets? etc as seen in Corinth? People say Paul did not preach healing yet in the churches he set up there were healers and miracle workers so healing was part of the gospel to be administered ... sure it is "deliver us from all evil"

Until folk get it into their heads that healing is part of salvation they will never organise [or allow God to organise] healing and deliverance teams within the local assembly.

The Body of Christ, people wax lyrical. He lives and ministers through us, we are His body. None of us is the whole body but as an assembly we make up the whole ministry of Christ. It should be as though Jesus Himself was in town . Would the sick be healed if Jesus was in town?

His body is in town.
