I don't think you get what I'm saying Billy. I read a book by a lady who had been crippled and ina wheelchair for years. She was a Christian and people had prayed for her for years but she was still crippled. Then after about ten years of suffering she was in a meeting and told her to ask a lady who was a new Christian to pray for her. The lady was astonished and at first was reluctant to do so but in the end she did and the wheelchair bound lady was healed. That was praying in accordance with God's will. If you ask him what to pray he will tell you so you know you are praying what he wants you to pray. Tacking on 'in the name of Jesus' to the end of a prayer of your own desires doesn't necessarily make it God's will.
It's not always easy to get a point across in writing so I still don't know if I've made it clear.
Thanks Pearl I'm not really getting at you, can't you see sis the way God works? she needed the prayer of a new christian, someone who had not imbibed years of men's doctrines
Look I gotta say, it's not even that folks go after these ministries, but people sit soaking themselves in the teachings of unbelief, the doctrines of men. They neither have faith [that faith which brings results] to pray and minister or faith to believe.
These teachings are dishonest
I've prayed and received miracles for folks but there have been times when the anointing and the faith just wasn't there and I've refused to pray and I told them why "I just don't have the faith" don't make up some cock and bull story about it not being God's will or God's time and all the things they teach to cover their embarrassment.
I don't blame the person who came for prayer, it is not their lack of faith, the lacking is in the ministry, in me ... it certainly isn't God.
There are loads of reasons why the ministry is defective.
The church is simply not set up to minister, where are the healers, the workers of miracles, the prophets? etc as seen in Corinth? People say Paul did not preach healing yet in the churches he set up there were healers and miracle workers so healing was part of the gospel to be administered ... sure it is "deliver us from all evil"
Until folk get it into their heads that healing is part of salvation they will never organise [or allow God to organise] healing and deliverance teams within the local assembly.
The Body of Christ, people wax lyrical. He lives and ministers through us, we are His body. None of us is the whole body but as an assembly we make up the whole ministry of Christ. It should be as though Jesus Himself was in town . Would the sick be healed if Jesus was in town?
His body is in town.
