You know what confusion of a believer is? when they confuse their spiritual growth with the life that is in the seed, or no consideration of the seed in them. No knowledge of the seed causes extreme confusion. I remember being confronted on something I was trying to say in a meeting and a pastor showed me someone's notes and the notes had underlined in red the things that had confused them, they had gone to the pastor about it in all sincerity. I completely understand that but my first thought was 'they don't know, the pastor has played with them or given all he could and his people just did not know.' I knew in a way that I may never see them again and had to say politely in our private conversation "they were confused before I got here.' It was something so simple and the poor people didn't know.
If you mess around and play church or whatever it is, just laziness maybe you will be confused. Scripture is always direct and to the point and pin points what is being said even if you have to cross reference you can get something out of it. That is a trap people get into like the scriptures are hiding something and I'll need to treat them like an Agatha Christie novel. If you do, you will never know. Read it like it is written wait on the Lord and keep your hand to the plow. You stay with it and take what it is saying just like it is said and you will get understanding, the Holyspirit is your teacher and He will never fail you.
The letter killeth, but the spirit is life. What is written will kill you if you do not read it like it is written and wait on the Holyspirit to work with your mind. We can give our understanding of scripture but that understanding is death, the Lord gives you your very own understanding and that is life. But it has to have it's base in scripture, you will get nothing from the Holyspirit that is outside of scripture, write that down underline it because the day is coming and now is that men will not ensue scripture, and surely no sound doctrine.
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. - 2 Corinthians 3:6.
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away - 2 Timothy 3:1-5
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. - 2 Timothy 3:13-15.
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. - 2 Timothy 4:1-5.
