I think the death penalty would be a mercy tbh
I disagree. In that there is always a chance an innocent person could be sentenced to death.

For the true guilty person, I think a life sentence without parole would suffice.
If they were able to be sentenced to death due to the heinous nature of their crime, then I believe a sentence of the rest of their life in prison is justice. Everyday, that guilty person awakes to again realize what they did.

And that prison, and their cell, is a reminder of the punishment they chose to risk when committing their crime.
And most importantly, they may find redemption in Christ. And work there to become a better person. At least as much as is possible in prison.

For the wrongly convicted, I believe it is a two fold matter as pertains to the lwop sentence. In that they have a chance to be exonerated from their wrongful conviction. Because the state didn't kill them first.

God be with the innocent in prison. And comfort the victims of the guilty. And too the family of the guilty.

Oh yeah I missed that last part. I salute @pompadour for his years of service. :D Policemen and women are usually the good guys,.. and that's great when it's good versus evil,.. the only problem is when they partner up with one of the bad guys. A badge doesn't make somebody an officer of the law any more than a book makes somebody a teacher. Wolves in sheep's clothing is what they are!
Thankfully, the honorable police are in greater number than the bad ones.

We must pray for this man as also Floyd's soul. They are both made in the imago dei and God is not happy when people die, rather He would they repent.

Do you think I enjoy seeing evil people die?" asks the Sovereign LORD. "No, I would rather see them repent and live. Ezekiel 18:23

there is nothing happy about any of this

For whom? And what would be gained by it. As Christians wouldn't it be more righteous to pray for him to be saved than hope for him to be executed.

I say hang him!!!

I can see manslaughter after watching the videos of his death, but being guilty of murder is too far from my judgment seat. I have to be honest especially in serious matters like this. And honesty is probably manslaughter.

I do not even agree with manslaughter. It is all political. The city did not have procedures in place...if there is any fault...it is with the city.

And then the BLM mobs...do we see any concern to convict the people that burnt cities, looted business, terrorized neighborhoods, assaulted and murdered people...no no no...all a political show of incompetency and injustice.

I kind of agree, but the police officer did press on his neck with his weight for a long time, even an idiot would know not to do that for fear of strangulation. So I'll disagree on that point. But yes everything else seems correct with what you're saying.

What just happened to Derek Chauvin is flat out evil. The man was doing a job, while Floyd was doing multiple crimes. Evil. God will recompense this evil back on their own heads. Woe unto you evildoers!
At the end of the day is all about morons who are resisting arrest, so what should the main message be that's loud and clear, Do not resist arrest for crying out loud or you are a total moron and that's a fact.

Most of such morons who resist arrest are on drugs ICE etc they are dangerous people to deal with, as they will try and kill a cop if they can. they are the lowest of the low and the history of Floyd was he was a filthy grub that had clearly no respect for anyone, the true message should be is don't be a grub.
BLM intention is in supporting aiding and abetting grubs.

The cop knew Floyd well as they both worked as bouncers together. Floyd was 6ft 8 and was a thug that bashed many people up not to mention robed people with a gun and threatened a pregnant black woman to shoot her baby. what a nice bloke ! but the MSM do not point all such out, I happen to wonder why that is ? the MSM are Satanist who promote and make bad people look good ? not to mention they also make good people out to be bad or worse than they truly are. Look at Trump they were on the war path is slandering everything that Trump did 24/7 they were relentlessly trying to paint him in a bad light and must of spent billions in spin doctors doing so.
Who is aiding the MSM is the real question and why, because their tactics are on par with that of Nazi Germany media was, if in fact more so finely tuned propaganda spinning total nonsense. the twisting and turning that they are truly doing is worthy of a snake. clearly promoting and empowering morons, not once have I heard Do not resist arrest you all, it does not end up well you hear, So stop resisting arrest for crying out loud !

When dealing with one who is on drugs the cops are dealing with a moron for a start who will try anything at all to try and get away, they will punch the cops, bite, spit or knife them or shoot them with no regard, so the cops have to really go for it directly, so it does not get out of hand.
You want to take on the police ? you is really dumb, for real ! so don't take them on should be the message and not promoting the trash.

Yes but the knee is on the side of the neck, such is procedure and it does not block the wind pipe.
Our cops here have to put people in the paddy wagon on their back for fear that if they are on their belly they can not breath, fat people can have problems breathing on their belly and people who are on drugs and people who have ran from the police or struggled with the police and then tossed in the paddy wagon are exhausted and find it hard to breath, we have some paddy wagons that have like plastic dog kennels for each offender so they can not try to kill others in their or bite or spit on them or due to people being infected with AIDS blood.
The cops have to deal with a lot of real bad people, that the majority of the public have no idea at all about and if they would to be tolled they just flat reject such in total ignorance, I could point out what they get up to, here on the forum but it would highly and deeply offend people to be informed of the reality as to the truth that goes on with such people.

I'll tell you a story, I was in jail once for punching a guy in a dispute. I was found guilty and sentenced to 7 months in jail. Not very Christ like of me and I regret doing that, and it's done now. I spent a lot of time with the career criminals and talked with them a lot. And what I found is a lot of a reminder of the videos I see on Facebook regarding the looting and riots. I see them as mostly career criminals than people seeking justice. And that's my opinion from witnessing and watching the videos. So I think I might agree with you mostly.

But I must say that the jugular vein that supplies blood to your brain runs along the side of your neck. Which is the area the police officer was kneeling on. And that was very unwise. He was brought to justice for inhumane treatment of a suspect (not necessarily a criminal guilty of a crime). And treatment of suspects should be as the treatment as those who are innocent. Unless they're resisting arrest or being aggressive towards police.

Pelosi...was mafia style trained....by daddy.
Maxine Waters the other old hag also from California, stuck her nose in the Minnesota case, not much unlike she has run her mouth in California instigating people to riot.
Marxists! UGH!
Riot ! Trump instigated a riot ! so the Devils try to claim, well no he did not at all in fact ! but this Maxine Waters has ? where is facebook etc closing such a person down ?
Boy the President of the USA was and is being treated in such a way as to undermine his freedom of speech, what has the world become controlled by something likened to Nazi Germany or Stalin's Communist. C'mon ! Trump should sue every organisation that has undermined his rights to fee speech, because fact is he did nothing wrong.

Organisations that have the power to shut down the President of the USA freedom of speech ! what hope does anyone have of freedom of speech then ?
The golden rule above all is freedom of speech ! once that right is tampered with in any way your on the path to being owned, such is it's Slavery, Socialism Cultural Marxism is not freedom it's enslavement under Godless devils in fact, criminally deranged grubs. Bible says you shall know them by their works.

I didn't know you were in jail. I was going to wind up in juvenile hall for threatening people over the internet when I was a young stupid kid,.. but the charges were dropped and like you just said it's all water under the bridge now as God looks at our sins no more once we repent and ask Him for forgiveness. :)

Yeah dark chapter in my life. Over 10 years ago. I grabbed a spotlight out of a guys hand and they took off and came back with a friend with a gun and nearly killed me before the police showed up. I was convicted of robbery and assault. Lesson learned harshly, but I didn't get shot which is how they convicted me, I punched the gun guy and held him off with a flashlight weapon until police showed up. He said in court that he was going to shoot me. The judge told him that would have been a mistake. And I agree.

Wow scary. And I originally thought that when I would come clean about my past that people would tell me that I was a bad person and didn't want me around,.. but then I quickly discovered that I wasn't the only one with skeletons in my closet and mine weren't nearly as bad.

I guess the best way for me to put it is that I'm not a bad person,.. I've just done bad things that I shouldn't have done. Then again, even though they're different things,.. haven't we all?

He had the gun up in the air and I could tell he was thinking about lowering it towards my head, I had a metal flashlight and indicated what I would do to him if he tried to lower it into my face. They used my words of warning against me. I was just defending my life, and the prosecutor made it look like I was a dangerous criminal. But yeah it was a super intense moment before the police arrived. Sometimes I wonder if black people are going thru that fear of death with police? Thinking they're the KKK and wanting to kill them?

I might be a good person but I'm nothing like Jesus which I'm so glad that I have Him for a Savior. :) I guess also if I was a bad person,.. I wouldn't regret it when I've screwed up and I wouldn't admit it. :)
