In my understanding of end times events, the United States doesn't seem to fit into the list of people and nations that play prominantly. It seems as though there is a concerted effort to undermine the U.S. both externally and internally. Is this the case or am I just reading something into this?

I believe that Israel holds a divine place in God's overall plan. She is the olive tree into which we as Christians have been grafted. She has been blinded by God for the salvation of the Gentiles, but in the words of Paul, "all Israel shall be saved.":)
