(Matthew 8:21) is a very interesting statement Jesus made for multiple reasons.
Also (Luke 9:60).

It really begs some questions.

Is Jesus referring to the dead as those who will ultimately die spiritually in the Lake of Fire?
(Revelation 21:8)
If so, why wouldn't Jesus want to help/save those people?

If Jesus was referring to the man's father and others who would bury him, why was the man he was speaking to excluded from this assessment? Why wasn't he spiritually dead as well?
When did Jesus give him life, if that was the case? It appears that Jesus was just then initially inviting the man to follow Him and be His disciple so ... when did the man receive Life?

When you consider the parable of the Wheat and the Tares (Matthew 13:24-30; 36-43), you can't help but notice that Jesus speaks of two very different types of people in the world; and He explains it clearly after the parable to mean that the devil somehow generated the Tares, or counterfeit people. Are these the people who Jesus refers to as dead in Matthew 8:21 & Luke 9:60? Can these people be saved ... at all?

Another example of His indifference to certain people is in Matt. 13:11 & Mark 4:11.
(Matthew 13:10-11)
(Mark 4:10-12)
Jesus clearly states in Mark 4:12 that if the people in question were to see and hear and understand what He was saying to the disciples, He would HAVE to save them; indicating clearly that He had NO intention of doing so.

In light of these verses, look now at the commonly quoted "Lord, Lord" verse with new eyes.
Basically, Jesus says to these people who have certainly done many wonderful things in His name, "I never knew you, depart from me, sinners!" (my translation, but accurate)...and He sends them to the Lake of Fire. (Matthew 7:22)

The devil counterfeits just about everything that God creates and uses it for his own purposes. Is it possible that there have been counterfeit people among us from the very beginning and God will have nothing to do with them despite their best efforts?

What exactly is going on here and why do the churches NEVER address this topic?

Life is only in Jesus Christ is the point, as one had the Holy Spirit, you are born again.

Jesus came that you may have life in abundance. before one is truly born again you are not Saved, you are of this world, but once you are truly born again then you are of the Kingdom of God.

One has to drop the worldly desires of the flesh for such is folly and madness, some what like a dog. seeking nonsense pleasure and following delusions of this world.

What does one gain from the works of this world. feeding the ego of Mans madness. lets say one may boast, I work harder than you ? or I have more money than you or whatever boast you could think of, but at the end of the day what is such truly if one is lost ?
Such people are barking up the wrong tree. Look all X, Y and Z maybe good people in themselves as to their perceptions and to others who are of this world and it's delusions, but as in regards to the dude who called Jesus Christ Good teacher, Jesus said why do you call me good ? this Dude and as such people would not truly know what Good truly was in fact, this dude did not know who Jesus Christ was in fact for a start and so what would such a one truly know about Good as to God ? like that o9f the Kingdom of God, as he and all such are all Sinners under delusions of this world and it's deceptions.

We have to come out from them ? and their delusions and the deceptions of this world.

Sometimes one just has to recognize that some people simply don't want it. so it is best to allow them to go their own way and use our talents on seeking out those rightly disposed for everlasting life/those ordained to eternal life Acts 13:48

Great verse reference. That's perfect.
(Acts 13:48)
"... as many as were ordained to eternal life ... believed."
