I'm not sure where to post this, move it if needed.

Many Christians probably already know this, so bare with me, but I have been noticing more and more that when I pray about a problem I am having (the problems seems like big problems to me), but when I do, God somehow rises above my petty prayer and takes my focus to the real issue. A few years back this didn't really happen, I would pray about something and God would work it out, and maybe this was to show me His faithfulness? Usually the real issue God is showing me is my heart condition, He usually points out that I am not forgiving or have unresolved anger over a situation, or I just want to be right. He will even lead me to a verse in the Bible and then I am convicted, but I am so filled with joy that He showed me and I am slowly but surely maturing to be like Christ!

Awhile ago I started my prayers with praise and many times now, when I reach the point where I present my problem, the problem doesn't really matter anymore. :) Praise God!!

Does anyone know what I mean?

Amen to that Levi! I certainly do understand your meaning....I think that as we mature in him...he takes us from that grace place Hebrews 4:15-16 as new babes, to the instruction classroom. Psalms 32:7-9. Grace is available to all believers of course and as we grow in that grace through faith...we mature through the sanctification process that he lays out in our individual lives. He stretches us and molds us through various circumstances so that we become more like Jesus our Savior... :)

Shalom!

Thanks Angelina!

I can see that happening! It reminds me of this promsie:

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

God bless you!

Amen!
Giving God praise before prayer really does open the doors of heaven....worshiping and praising God is awesome and we can easily abandon our purpose of entreating the Kings ear when we come face to face before his throne of grace.... surrounded by his glory and all encompassing peace..."It is indeed well, with my soul" :)

Shalom!

True, Angelina!

A couple of years ago a very wise man told me to keep a journal of all the happenings throughout my day where I knew for a fact God was doing something, and I know He's doing something all the time everywhere, but we don't always notice. I have seen miracles happen, several of them even at age 18, and we can hold onto these and see God's faithfulness, providence and sovereignty in all situations. This isn't taking away from any of the larger miracles, like healings or when people should have died but didn't, when a drought turns into a blessing, and on and on, but in the daily walk with God when we take notice of what He is doing, it's a praise in itself back to Him that you are acknowledging not only His existance but also His different attributes. Even when things are not going well, we can see Him at work. Nothing is a coincedence!

God honors this, or so it seems, The journal has been great, it helps me to remember from weeks past, and even how He connects the happenings together and shows me the bigger picture or rather He develops the bigger picture.

Looking back, I have to laugh at some of the entries I've made in the Journals I have kept. Some of them are 15-20 years old. I thank the Lord that he was so patient with me in those days and that he did not answer some of my prayers...

I agree that when we become children of God, that nothing is a coincidence. We walk by faith and live by faith and move by faith and trust God in every situation that we face....In hindsight I see the mighty works that God has done in my life and through my life, when I read those journals. They are an encouragement and a reminder that God has never let me down, he provides and makes a way where there is no way..Glory To God!
