As Night at Noon Day

God will send a permanent solar eclipse Over Israel before Armageddon to judge the antichrist kingdom.

Revelation 16:10-11
10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

Isaiah 13:9-11
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Isaiah 16:1-5
1 Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.
2 For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.
3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.
4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

(((Jesus the Lamb will sit on the throne in the kingdom)))
5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

Isaiah 24:21-23
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones((Satan)) that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
23Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Habakkuk 3:11-13
11The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.
12 Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.

(((Armageddon)))
13 Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.

Joel 3:14-16
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. 15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

Amos 8:9
7 The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.
8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Job 38:13-15
12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
14 It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
15And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

Habakkuk 3:11-13
11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went(from view), and at the shining of thy glittering spear.
12 Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger.
13 Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people(Israel), even for salvation with thine anointed(Saints); thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.(To Armageddon)

Isaiah 60:1-2
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

So then where does the following information fit into your theology-eschatology? :)

Amos 8:9-10 KJV
9. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:
10. And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head;
and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

Matthew 27:38-45 KJV
38. Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
39. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
40. And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41. Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42. He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
44. The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
45. Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Mark 15:29-33 KJV
29. And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
30. Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
31. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.
32. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
33. And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

Amos 8:10 is refering to the end time judgment by war and fire.

Isaiah 3:16-26
16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
17Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
18In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
19The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21The rings, and nose jewels,
22The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
23The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
24And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
25Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
26And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

Personely I believe they will be attacked with nuclear weapons.

The darkness at the time of the crucifiction is not explained any ware that I know of. Do you have an opinion?

Physical warfare? Nuclear weapons? The Scripture teaches completely the opposite in all of the New Covenant writings. Yeshua says "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." So what kind of warfare do the prophets speak when they speak by the Holy Spirit of the Father? Also did you notice from Amos 8:10 that it states "I will turn your feasts into morning"? Yeshua was crucified 14 Abib-Nisan, between the evenings, at Passover, (which is itself called a Feast) and the High Shabbat which followed was the Feast of Unleavened Bread. :)

Fire in the Sky

Jeremiah 25:15-17,
15 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
16 And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17 Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
18 To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

(((God cause man to fight man by nuclear war)))
31A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
32 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

2 Peter 3:10–15 KJV
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Revelation 6:12–14 KJV
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Isaiah 34:1–8 KJV
34 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth
hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
2 For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Another Old Testament prophet, Isaiah, also foresaw the nuclear war and he prophesied that the heavens will burn and roll up as a scroll. Apparently, all of the airplanes and nuclear missiles will fall from the sky during the war when the atmosphere burns. This judgment will be on all nations.

Isaiah 51:5–11 KJV
5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

Isaiah 25:1–7 KJV
4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
6 And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

In Isaiah 30:25–26, it says that the sun will become seven times stronger in the day of great slaughter. The day of great slaughter happens when the nuclear war takes place and the ozone layer is burned up as a scroll. Malachi 4:1 says that the earth will burn as an oven. In looking to the encyclopedia to see what parts of the atmosphere can burn, you will discover that the ozone is a triple oxygen molecule.
The ozone layer and the hydrogen layer are next to each other in the atmosphere above the earth. The chemical reaction when they burn is as follows:
Heat + oxygen + hydrogen = H2O (water) + greater heat
The ozone and hydrogen layers will be set on fire over Israel by an atomic blast, and then they will burn like the Hindenburg blimp. When the ozone and hydrogen burn, it will form hot water vapor that will condense into water droplets that will then become rain, which will form great hailstones that will fall to the earth along with torrential rain. When the atmosphere burns, the heavens will roll up as a scroll all the way around the earth, over every nation.

I can't believe I misspelled "mourning" in that Scripture quote. As for the rest it is your thread I suppose. :)

I can see we have our work cut out for us.

Let me start by saying that not all the prophecies of the Tanakh (the OT) are yet to be fulfilled in the future; some of them have already been fulfilled in the past. The sooner you recognize this point, the better off you'll be.

One must first understand the prophets, the people to whom they ministered, and what was going on in their society when the prophet prophesied.

For instance, Haggai (Chagay) and Zechariah (Z'kharyahu) prophesied at a time after the Babylonian and Persian Captivity, after they had laid the foundation for the rebuilt, second Temple, but before that Temple was completed. Thus, their writings have to do mostly with encouraging the Isra'elis of the Southern Kingdom, called "Y'hudah" after the major tribe of that kingdom, to finish what they had started. They needed to finish the building of the Temple.

Therefore, most of their prophecies are NOT about the end times. However, there are some exceptions because God seldom reveals the short-range future without giving some hints about the long-range projections.

Thus, it is unwise to think to find details about the end times events in the early chapters of Zechariah, for instance.

Secondly, you must ALWAYS check your assumptions against the actual wording in the original languages. And, it would be wise to do so BEFORE broadcasting your assumptions as facts. It's one thing to say, "I think this COULD mean such-and-such; what do you think?" It's quite another to say, "This DEFINITELY MEANS such-and-such." When one proves the assumption incorrect, there's less "crow to eat" in the former, and less face-saving to do. Some get themselves so locked in to what they have claimed that they can't bring themselves to say, "I was wrong." It's too humiliating for them, even if they indeed see that they were wrong! How does one gracefully make the transition from "This DEFINITELY MEANS such-and-such" to "This CANNOT MEAN such and such" without losing face?

This is VERY similar to what Yeshua` said about taking the upper seats at a banquet:

Luke 14:7-11
7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,
8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
9 And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Can you see how this relates? The position that you are taking about this theory of yours that all these verses are speaking about this hypothetical "permanent solar eclipse" is unworkable. What you have here in this list of passages is a bit of a hodgepodge! It's a picture that YOU have made out of puzzle pieces that ALMOST fit together, FORCED together anyway, and glued that way! It doesn't come close to the picture on the box!

Too bad neither of you are willing to believe what has already been shown from Scripture:

daq said:
And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God lights it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved do walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there is no night there.

So I went, and looked, and indeed; there is no "night" in the new Spirit of Genesis Beginning:

A"yowm" is not necessarily always intended to be "a day" though this is the most common rendering. The primary meaning of "yowm" denotes "the heat of the day" but also "a space of time" which may include a moment, a day, a year, a season, a span of time, an age, and the waxing and the waning thereof. The waxing and the waning of a span of time would be the equivalent of "an evening and a morning" whether it be a year, a month, a day, a moment, or even an hour. Thus, in the New Testament, the day is divided into the hours of the day, (third hour, sixth hour, ninth hour, etc.,). Are we then to believe that the Creator "paused" for twelve hours during the creation event of the opening of the Book of Genesis? Did he pause for twelve hours so as to allow "the night" to pass between each yowm-day? Not so because that would be rest or repose and he did not so until the Seventh Yom; rather, the creation event is compressed into "six words" which are the six yowmiym-moments of spoken Word recorded in the first chapter of Genesis. These six words are like booming thunders which go forth from the mouth of the Creator and accomplish the spoken thought, in succession, like rolling thunders.

Original Strong's Ref. #3117
Romanized yowm
Pronounced yome
from an unused root meaning to be hot; a day (as the warm hours), whether literal (from sunrise to sunset, or from one sunset to the next), or figurative (a space of time defined by an associated term), [often used adverb]:
KJV--age, + always, + chronicals, continually(-ance), daily, ([birth-], each, to) day, (now a, two) days (agone), + elder, X end, + evening, + (for) ever(-lasting, -more), X full, life, as (so) long as (... live), (even) now, + old, + outlived, + perpetually, presently, + remaineth, X required, season, X since, space, then, (process of) time, + as at other times, + in trouble, weather, (as) when, (a, the, within a) while (that), X whole (+ age), (full) year(-ly), + younger.

Genesis 1:1-4
1. In the beginning bara'-created-cut-down 'Elohiym the heavens and the earth.
2. And the earth was tohuw, and bohuw; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Ruwach-Spirit of 'Elohiym brooded upon the face of the waters.
3. And 'Elohiym said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4. And 'Elohiym saw the light, that it was good: and 'Elohiym divided the light from the darkness.

And the darkness of night is rolled away to the outside:

Genesis 1:5
5. And 'Elohiym called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first yowm.

FIRST YOWM (ONE HOUR) ~ NO NIGHT

Genesis 1:6-8
6. And 'Elohiym said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7. And 'Elohiym made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8. And 'Elohiym called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second yowm.

SECOND YOWM (ONE HOUR) ~ NO NIGHT

Genesis 1:9-13
9. And 'Elohiym said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10. And 'Elohiym called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and 'Elohiym saw that it was good.
11. And 'Elohiym said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and 'Elohiym saw that it was good.
13. And the evening and the morning were the third yowm.

THIRD YOWM (ONE HOUR) ~ NO NIGHT

Genesis 1:14-19
14. And 'Elohiym said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15. And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16. And 'Elohiym made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17. And 'Elohiym set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18. And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and 'Elohiym saw that it was good.
19. And the evening and the morning were the fourth yowm.

FOURTH YOWM (ONE HOUR) ~ NO NIGHT

Genesis 1:20-23
20. And 'Elohiym said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21. And 'Elohiym created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and 'Elohiym saw that it was good.
22. And 'Elohiym blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23. And the evening and the morning were the fifth yowm.

FIFTH YOWM (ONE HOUR) ~ NO NIGHT

Genesis 1:31
31. And 'Elohiym saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth yowm.

SIXTH YOWM (ONE HOUR) ~ NO NIGHT
SIX YOWMIYM HOURS SPOKEN: NO NIGHTS

Genesis 2:1-4
1. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2. And in the seventh yowm finished-ended 'Elohiym his work which he had made; and he rested in the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3. And 'Elohiym blessed the seventh yowm, and qadash-sanctified-hallowed it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which 'Elohiym created and made.
4. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that YHWH 'Elohiym made the earth and the heavens.

THE SEVENTH YOWM IS ETERNAL: NO EVENING NO MORNING
THE SIX HOURS OF CREATION ARE THE SIX HOURS OF CRUCIFIXION:

The crucifixion of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. :)
The hours of the crucifixion fulfill the Amos 8 passage referenced previously above as well as the six hours of Creation down to the very division of Light from Darkness. The morning tamiyd offering is fulfilled in the three hours of Light from the third hour till the sixth hour, (noon or midday) and the evening tamiyd offering is fulfilled in the three hours of Darkness from the sixth hour till the ninth hour, (3:00PM) when Yeshua gave up the Spirit. The same three and three yamiym are the "three days and three nights" in the heart of the 'adamah-soil wherein the Son of man abode during the crucifixion because the nephesh-soul of the man is in the blood. Three days and three nights; three hours of Light and three hours of Darkness, just as Yonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish.

And when the six hours of Creation were fulfilled in Messiah:

John 19:34-35 KJV
34. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

And how is it that this is stated so that "we might believe"? Because the blood and the water testify the Spirit of Truth.

Mark 15:25-38 KJV
25. And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
26. And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27. And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
28. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

34. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
35. And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
36. And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
37. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

38. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

Daq,

During the kingdom age the sun will stay over Israel and the moon will stay over Israel but they will not shine on Israel. How can this be? I believe they

will be in solar eclipse. The glory of Jesus in the New Jerusalem will be the light on Israel. There will be no light from the sun in the New Jerusallem

but it will be lighted by the glory of Jesus. So how can the New Jerusalem be over Israel at the same time the sun and moon are over Israel and no

light from the sun and moon be in the New Jerusalem? I believe the New Jerusalem will be suspended in the umbra shadow of the moon in solar

eclipse permanently over Israel.

Isaiah 60:19-22
19The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

20Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

21Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

22A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

Revelation 21:
22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,
8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
9 And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.

KJV

WHERE does it say explicitly that "the sun and moon will not shine on Isra'el?!" That's the flaw in your theory. See, in order for such an eclipse to occur in such a permanent way that would last for a THOUSAND YEARS, some SIGNIFICANT astronomic changes would have to occur. First of all, the earth's rotation would have to change so that one day-cycle would be the same as its year-cycle. Like the current lunar cycles, that would place one side of the earth constantly toward the sun.

Second, the moon's orbit would have to change. It would have to be placed in not just a geosynchronous orbit but a GEOSTATIONARY ORBIT! There are only FOUR ways that this could be possible:

1. The earth's sidereal rotation period would change (which we've already changed to position it toward the sun),
2. The moon's distance from the earth would have to change,
3. The moon's velocity around the earth would have to change, and/or
4. The moon's mass would have to change.

NONE of these changes are favorable to the earth's climates! Right now, everything is perfectly balanced. The moon produces tidal effects on the earth, even at its great, average distance of 238,855 miles away! If the moon came closer to earth, we'd have dramatic changes in the tidal effects, and tidal effects do MORE than change the height of our oceans! They pull on EVERY MOLECULE of the earth! They cause shifting in the earth's crust; they cause buildings to bend; they cause bridges to warp, and the list goes on!

If one side of the earth was always positioned toward the sun, the heat on that side of the earth would be comparable to the heat of the light side of the moon today! We're talking about a temperature of 253 degrees Fahrenheit! On the flip side, the dark side of the earth would be comparable to the dark side of the moon today, a MINUS 387 degrees Fahrenheit! And, don't count on the gases of the earth's atmosphere, because at temperature extremes like this, most of the gases would either become frozen into liquid or solid on the dark side, and the remaining portion of the atmosphere would rush to level out the atmospheric pressure. This would continue until we would not have an atmosphere to mention, except on the light side of the earth, and there the gases would be superheated! Certainly no life as we know it could survive under such conditions.

Furthermore, there are other factors to consider, such as the inclination of the moon's orbit being changed, the tilt of the earth's axis being changed, Jerusalem's position "somehow" being shifted to a new "equator" (which might be related to the tilt of the earth's axis), and the effects that the eccentricity of earth's revolution and that of the moon's revolution around the earth have on their relationships!

For the moon to be in CONSTANT eclipse of the sun, the moon would have to be as slow in its movement around the earth as the earth revolves around the sun! At such a slow speed, the moon would crash into the earth. And, for the umbra to encompass just Jerusalem, it could be no farther away that 500,000 miles, and FORGET about eclipsing the sun for the whole land of Isra'el! Logistically speaking, it's IMPOSSIBLE!

Okay, let's shudder for a moment and leave this nightmare scenario.
...

On a more positive note, the Scriptures do NOT say explicitly that such changes must occur. Quite the opposite, take a look at a few comforting passages of Scripture:

Ps 37:7-11
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
KJV

Hard for the meek to "inherit the earth" and "delight themselves in the abundance of peace" when there's no earth LEFT to inherit!

Psalm 89:8-37
8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
12 The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
18 For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
36 His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
KJV

However, the earth and and sun and the moon are established forever! Thus, David's seed (specifically culminating in the Messiah Yeshua`) being established forever can be compared with them!

Isa 66:22-23
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
KJV

And, a "new moon" is impossible without the normal revolution of the moon about the earth. The "sabbath" or "shabbat" would be impossible if the earth failed to rotate in normal days so that every seventh day, the shabbat, could be counted.

By the way, I was going to add before I posted that what you are reading in Isaiah 60:19-20 is a COMPARISON of the light of the sun and moon to that of the LORD! HE will be their light! HE will be their "sun and moon!"

30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;

Retrobyter,

You have a great understanding of what I think is going to happen! But what you have not considered is the stabilizing effects of the New Jerusalem coming between the earth and the moon. Yes Jerusalem will be lifted up. I think the last days Babylon on the dark side of the earth may also be covered by the sea when it subsides.

Zechariah 14:9-11
9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

Jeremiah 51:41-45
41 How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
42 The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
43 Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.
44 And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
45 My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD. (((There are 6,000,000 Jews in America.)))

First of all, there is NO indication in ANY Scripture ANYWHERE in the Bible that the New Jerusalem will be revolving around the earth during the Millennium. The New Jerusalem doesn't show up until it descends from God "out of the sky" to the NEW Earth after the Millennium and after the Great White Throne Judgment.

Second, if the New Jerusalem were to be a second satellite in contrast to the moon, it would hardly have a "stabilizing effect," particularly positioned in the gravity well between the earth and the moon! It would MULTIPLY the tidal effects, just as the sun does when it is in line with the moon and the earth!

Third, what we know about the New Jerusalem is that it will have four sides, each side associated with a compass direction. This only makes sense if the city lands. As an orbiting satellite, "north, south, east and west" are meaningless.

Fourth, in the same way, the river of the water of life flowing from the throne to the rest of the city, must go SOMEWHERE! When it has landed, that water will flow out of the gates that always stand open onto the New Earth. How will it flow in the low gravity of however-far-above-the-earth's-surface it will orbit?

Fifth, the passage you quoted from Z'kharyahu's (Zechariah's) prophecy is talking about OLD Jerusalem, not the New Jerusalem! The landmarks that are mentioned in verse 10 would be MEANINGLESS to a city that is 1,500 miles long and wide and high!

Sixth, Yirmeyahu's (Jeremiah's) prophecy is not talking about Jerusalem AT ALL! It is talking about LITERAL BAVEL (BABYLON) in Mesopotamia which is now in Iraq! The references to "Sheshakh" and "Bel" and the "wall of Babylon" are indicators that this is talking about ANCIENT Bavel where the children of Isra'el were taken captive. Yirmeyahu primarily prophesied for the people of HIS DAY! Both the prophecy that bears his name and the book of Lamentations are lamenting the destruction in the Land of Isra'el and the Captivity! While YHWH DOES speak through His prophet Yirmeyahu about certain things in the distant future, this passage is not one of them!

Understand the prophecy first, and THEN look for references within that prophecy that might be extended to our future, like the return of the Messiah to save His people Isra'el (Zechariah) or the New Covenant being made with Isra'el and Y'hudah (Jeremiah). Don't fall into the same deception as those who use the allegorical method of interpretation! The Scriptures CANNOT - MUST NOT - be arrested to say whatever one wants them to say!

It sure is wonderfully awesome to have Yeshua as my Rabbi and Torah-Prophets interpreter! :)

GOOD! However, you need to know that the "rapture" is NOT before the "tribulation" because the "tribulation" (Greek: thlipsis = "pressure") about which Yeshua` was talking has been going on since the first century and it is that which is mostly upon the Jews and other Isra'elis, the "Time of Ya`aqov's Trouble." The "rapture" (Greek: harpazoo = "snatching away") is that which occurs when our Lord Yeshua` returns to this earth to rescue His people. He has to gather an army first, and He will do this through the RESURRECTION! In the Resurrection, our bodies will be transformed like unto His resurrection body, and His messengers will gather us to Him - not to go to some "Heaven," but to go to ISRA'EL to attack Yeshua`s enemies! The "rapture" is simply a MASS-TRANSIT SYSTEM to get us all there as quickly as possible!

Are you suggesting that I like to hide in the bushes or walk in darkness? Prophecy is a beautiful and fulfilling subject when understood in its proper overall contextual Light because the Prophets throughout Tanak are expounding what the Most High revealed to them in their own walks through Torah with the Creator.

Matthew 7:12-15 KJV
12. Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: FOR THIS IS TORAH AND PROPHETS!
This is a FAR CRY from "permanent solar eclipses" or "returning to Israel to attack Yeshua's enemies", O ye dreamers. . .

The New Jerusalem and the moon will be in permanent solar ecipse of the sun so they will only rotate around the sun once a year. there will be no tidal problems.

When the Gentiles come to Israel during the kingdom age, they will come into the umbra shadow of the moon and look up to see the glory of Jesus in the New Jerusalem Isaiah 60:3

The water that flows from under the throne and heals the waters of the earth after the tribulation will be from the rebuilt Jerusalem on earth wich is the foot stool of Jesus. I forget which prophet explained that.

You're failing to understand what an "orbit" is.

Costello was talking to Abbott one day and said, "Hey, Abbott; I'm having a TERRIBLE day!" Abbott said, "Oh, really? Tell me about it." Costello said, "Yes, I'm having a TERRIBLE day; I woke up on the wrong side of the bed ... and fell out! My coffee was cold. My eggs were runny. My nose was cold AND runny! I missed my bus to work! Someone slammed the door to the office in my face, and I've just been feeling off all day! I don't think I've lost all my marbles, yet, but I've misplaced my shooter! And, then to top it all off, I was so frustrated with it all, that I threw myself to the ground ... and MISSED IT! Woo-HOO!"

My point is that Costello was describing an "orbit" EXACTLY! He threw himself to the ground ... and MISSED IT! An orbit is constantly falling toward where the earth would be if it was flat, but missing it because of the curvature of the earth. The trajectory constantly falls toward the earth, but the earth's surface falls away just as fast! Orbits are NEVER slow because they represent the acceleration of the smaller body toward the larger body due to gravity. Moons and satellites don't just FLOAT up there or HOVER above the earth; they are moving at high velocities. Take the moon, for instance:

The moon, an average of 384,400 km or 238,855 miles away from the earth, follows a elliptical curve around the earth that has a circumference of 1,499,618.58 miles. It accomplishes this orbit in 27.322 days. That means that the orbital velocity of the moon is 2,287.0 mph! That hunk of rock, about 1/6th the mass of the earth, is really trucking along! It just can't get fast enough to strike the earth! And, with an eccentricity of only 0.0554, its orbit is almost circular and is well balanced!

The earth, a satellite of Sol, our sun, is likewise speeding along in its orbit around the sun! We accomplish this orbit once every 365.2422 days, and the earth is about 93,000,000 miles away from the sun. Assuming for a moment a circular orbit, we travel a distance of 2 x pi x 93,000,000 miles or roughly 584,335,740 miles. Dividing the distance by the time, our average speed around the sun is about 66,600 mph!

No, a scenario like you paint is impossible. The moon can't slow down or its orbit would decay.
