Rita,
I just got back from our second visit to Mayo's, and just decided to check out this thread again. Looks like it didn't really go anywhere since. But I still wanted to respond to 'our' last post. Now I see you asked me to 'keep you all posted', so I will. :wavinghandBut I'll limit tags to just those who did respond to my one post.
@TLHKAJ @amigo de christo @Lambano @PS95

The last Neurologist we talked to Friday morning said Lewy Body Dementia is definitely off the list. That was the one where prognosis was "poor".....I'll agree with that. From my reading, it was 'no cure, but a good possibility of death after aspirating your own vomit...but if you survived that, it was to then die of pneumonia.' I wasn't going that route. But I didn't leave Mayo's with an "All is well." dx., either. They want me back in the Fall to be seen by a Dysautonomia Neurologist. He is booked out that far. Google says only 52-72 in the US.

Thank you again for this thread Rita. I hope all is well with you. hlo
Sorry for not responding sooner, have been away on a cruise.
I am so pleased they have ruled out Lewy body dementia, as far as I a concerned any dementia is difficult to deal with and the prognosis is never really brilliant. xx
Sorry that you have to wait so long for your Dr app, hope you are coping okay xxx

"Coping" is a good word for it. It has been a day by day walk for sure. Went from a highest high to a lowest low in the next few days. I was deep in repentance trying to confess a family iniquity which was very illuminating to have Him just reveal to me....at 77 years of age. Without 'divine revelation', I know it could have never come 'to the light' for me to deal with it. But the 'word' He gave for where I was yesterday....I couldn't even make up. I was walking the dog praying in repentance to that unknown sin I had been committing, and He said: "You have gone from the peak....of the mount of olives....to the bottom of the Dead Sea." I shared it this morning with a 'closest sister in Christ'. She said; "Wow, what do you even do with a word like that?" I told her; "I'll let you know."

On a cruise huh? Was it a suffering for Jesus we'd all like to be sharing? My brother and sister in law just got back from one where their cabin was at the extreme end of a loooong cruise ship. The only part of the ship which wasn't heaving was the middle. She was heaving and seasick for the whole week. :(

Thank you for sharing. Jesus came to mind after I read the word you received. Didn’t he go from the mount of Olives to the depth on the cross - maybe this is about what lay beyond the cross. Jonah had his ‘ bottom of the sea ‘ moment as well- it wasn’t the end of the story xxxx
We had a cabins in the middle and on deck 12 -but never felt sea sickness at all no matter where we were. I took some motion sickness meds with me as I had never been on a cruise ship, so I was very fortunate to not need them. So sorry to hear about your sister in laws experience, poor lady as it’s bad enough if you only have a day or two, but the whole week.

Good thoughts. Ironically the high plains of Kansas, are 2710 ft. and the mount of olives is 2828 ft.

Looks as if they are going to introduce a bill in parliament for this, it was voted for yesterday and got approved.
I honestly sit in the middle with some of it , watching many suffer makes you aware that end of life is horrible sometimes. Also are we sometimes contributing to that death by putting in drivers with morphine in it anyway, we know it speeds things up.
Life/ Death is complicated with all the medical help available for sustains life , do we play God anyway.
Be interested in your views - do they ever discuss this issue in your countries ?
Would you vote for or against it ?
Would you want that option if you had terminal cancer, or dementia or a progressive illness that would make you decline in an awful way ?
Just to give context, at the moment it will only be those with 6months or less to live that will be given the option., However I think, in time, it could change and become a slippery slope
I am like you. I sit in the middle. I think we have gone too far in medicine to prolong life. Sometimes I think that modern man has made medical science the new tree of life.

If we prolong a life only to have the person suffer a few extra months or even a year, are we doing right before God? I can no longer answer that question with any certainty.
