But you are still missing the distinction. Paul's words to Timothy were regarding "a worker" building upon the foundation according to that foundation through study to know what the true foundation is. But that is not the call of every Christian or a requirement of every "Christian life."
We are all called to be workers. their are no grandstands in the kingdom. We are all called in the Masters fields to labor.
Many are called but few are chosen, and gifts given for the work here in this world are not given all to all.
all to all, no. but everyone is given at least one gift, to use in the service of the Master.
