What if we would love each other in the fear of God?

What if we laid aside anger because the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God?

What if we forgave each other in patience in real time as non believers all over the world watched us?

What if we pursued love the way we pursued knowledge? Knowledge puffs up. Love edifies.

I myself struggle. I struggle to love a community that presents difficulties at times. I mean, I just straight up left for months. But you guys are kinder to me than I deserve. You really care, despite my aloofness.

What if I laid down my frustration with the forum? What if I had a soft heart once again? Maybe we'll see a change.

It would be great of course. But we don't see that here. It boggles them mind that there are so many different views from one book.
AS I see it- most disagreements are simply due to cherry picking verses and ignoring the others in order to have them harmonize. It's such a simple remedy for that, but what I see is too much pride in man.
Due to that, we have people teaching- I'm of Paul- I'm not of Paul- there are 2 gospels...etc. I have found those people to be very harsh on anyone who disagrees accusing others of no salvation. It's terribly sad.

On the flip side- we see "full agreement" on doctrines within the cults. While I wish I could say that their unity model should be followed- I absolutely can not, since it is not only blatant false beliefs that they must agree to, and severe punishment if you dare to disagree.

So what do we Christians do? As you said- be respectful when disagreeing! Do not call someone names or even a fool. If you feel anger creeping is step back and take a break. Pray. We all are imperfect so we need to be forgiving and mindful that we are not all in the same place. But those who say they are teachers need to be very careful.

I've come to define Christian Love as our inner commitment to the wellbeing of others, the objects of our love. While it's not a feeling, choosing to love this way will bring feelings to the heart.

I love you if I am first and foremost concerned over your wellbeing in all respects, whether material, emotional, spiritual, or any other needs you may have. And it's not just about meeting your needs, but providing for you such things as are good to provide.

I love you if I'm perfectly happy to suffer a loss in order to give you a gift. I love you when all I want is to give you a gift, some benefit for your life to help you be physically well, but all the more so, to be closer to our Heavenly Father.

I love you when I want to be pure so that I can serve you more perfectly in the power of the Holy Spirit.

I love you by choosing to forgive any offense even as it is happening, to ignore such things, determined not to be deterred from my good working by another's poor behavior.

Much love!

It's not that I expect there to be no conflict or correction on the forum. Some of that is inevitable. But I hope we can learn to fight like family and be quick to forgive and apologize ourselves if were in the wrong.

Hello, My Sister, Great thread, always happy to see you. I will mention you to my wife. Philippians 4 KJV Especially:

Think on These Things

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Love always, Walter

That day is coming Sister!

I understand the struggles and difficulty of living in this world but a soft heart is the way, I am certain of it if we look at Jesus through the gospels we see this kind and gentle heart of his, we should do our best to imitate him. the key is perseverance, we are tested and will be again but with the Holy Spirit all is possible and Jesus is always with us Never forget that, it is what keeps me going.

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever.” John 14:16 ASV
“and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”Matthew 28:20 ASV

It's difficult to NOT be jaded after viewing all of the depraved, Godless, lowlives, that share our oxygen. The fact of the matter is that humanity is TRASH. The closer that I become to God the less I want to do with people. It's rare and wonderful to meet a kindred spirit like you.

Thank you. The closer I get to God, the more strange I become to most people.

I am sorry your experience has been less than ideal ... I feel like that sometimes when I listen to the news too much ... but the small circle I move in is very supportive and generous. Even with strangers, I seem to get treated very well ... my daughter reckons its because I am an old man and everyone is nice to old people ... not sure if that's true but I find most people very kind.
