4. Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Satan is the Antichrist, the false messiah, and he will present himself in a way that persuades people he is the true Messiah. (Remember, he will be supernatural, performing all manner of supernatural wonders and miracles.) Again, this will occur at the sixth trumpet, before Christ returns.

Their favorite preacher told them they'd be out of here before any of the bad stuff hits and told them even if the mark of the beast is rolled out while we are still here they can take the mark and still be saved so they have no need of reading the bible when they have their favorite preachers tickling their eat only telling them what they want to hear.

People are busy in modern times so they do what the catholics do which is believe what they are told at church and question nothing.
