I have work colleagues who are lazy and thoughtless, if they continue in their ways we could loose our contract here and loose our jobs, Im not exaggerating the customer nearly didn't renew our contact for this year because of last years antics. The guys I work with dont understand that its getting more and more difficult to find employment these days, I dont think they care. but I care because I have a family to support.
The job we have is easy compared to most and the moneys ok for what it is, but because these guys work unsupervised they think they can get away with not doing anything their supposed too.
I have spoken to my boss on a fair few occasions and still nothing changes. I feel like Im carrying the load at this work site and when Im not there all my work is undone. The customer is not happy and I hear all about the rubbish these guys pull when Im not there, I end up having to apologize on their behalf and assuring them that something will be done about it, but nothing really does. Im not a supervisor or manager so I have no real sway with them and they dont listen.
I find myself sometimes being angry about it and cursing them out in my mind and really despising them in my heart, and sometimes I find myself running them down to others and then I feel terrible for doing it. I pray for forgiveness and the strength to hold my tongue, I try to pray for a forgiving heart towards them and I try to remember to forgive because I have been forgiven myself.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

I had a best mate recently die of cancer, he was a strong Christian a great man, he told me once that just because we are Christians doesnt mean we have to put up with rubbish.

What do you guys think, what would you do in this situation as Christians are you going through something similar yourself how are you handling anger and frustration?

I know what the Bible says about it, I want to know is how you deal with it personally.

Thanks :)

What kind of business you in?

30 % of my time is spent on my own work. 70% on helping others do their work. I know all about it ;). I see it as a great opportunity to witness to others. We need to try and look at the situation through God's eyes. Yes we need the job / can't lose a client. But God has also got us there for a reason.

This is how frustrating it is,
We only have one main gate remote, all the staff and customers come in and out of that gate. A few days ago a guard accidentally took it home with him, this isnt new its happened before which is fine because the person brings it straight back as soon as they realize they have it (normally because thy get a phone call)
This person however despite my phone call has not brought it back and tonight I receive a text message from him saying that he will get his mate to drop it off in 15mins which was about an hour ago. I was originally told that the guard had lost the remote, which grinds my guts because its meant to stay on a key chain and not be taken off. So for the past few days I have had to put up with customers and staff banging on their horns and cursing me out because they cant understand why I cant open the gate for them. whats worse is the weekend is coming up and we need to be able to release trucks 24 hours over the 2 day break. How am I going to do this without a remote?

Have called the boss and text him still no reply.
A handful of staff have remotes but they are unwilling to give them up not even for me to borrow one, security is treated like scum here and I dont really blame them, because I know what they are dealing with.

Ok. Lol they can't slack on that job and you can't exactly cover for them :).
Your right, all I can do is make excuses for them and provide good service myself, most of the staff here like me and we get along well.
Your reply was still a good point though and I thank you for it.

It's not wrong to express anger. Anger is part of the set of emotion that we were designed with by the Designer. Just make sure that when you express anger, it is still done according to the love we're called to as Christians.

I assure you.....that would be the only way Madad would handle it.....because you wouldn't want him angry in the flesh....and he wouldn't want that either.
For God has done a mighty work in this man. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!

I really feel for you ... I am the boss in my business and so from my perspective the management of your company isn't
doing their job by allowing this to continue.
Either they are afraid of asserting their authority - I was there once until God strengthened me and gave me the boldness
to lay down the law - it wasn't pretty but after the dust fell things got to where they needed to be.
Or the management simply doesn't care in which case they shouldn't be there.
Does the owner of the business know this is happening ?

Father I pray for Madad, you said that we should be anxious for nothing, but in everything give thanks and with prayer
supplication and thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to you and that your peace which surpasses all understanding
would guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
So, it is with earnestness and humbleness that I come before you and intercede for Madad and ask that you would intervene in
their situation.
I pray that you would look after your servant and bring about change in their company all the while protecting Madad and their income.
Lord your word says that you whatever we do we do unto you, and so I pray for strength and wisdom upon Madad to continue to do
the right thing and I pray for favour upon their life.
I humbly request this in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and thank you in advance for your grace and
loving kindness.
Amen.

Your right and thats what i try to remember, it can be a real trap and more often then not I fail at it, sometimes just getting so over it. I have no idea why some people have absolutely no sense of responsibility, like children in a playground, not a care in the world, it must be nice to be so ignorant.

I have thought about that a few times, but after much prayer in a Job I had before this (Casino and nightclubs), this was the one God gave me and in this Job I am able study the word, so I dont really want to throw it away. but yes I have been shopping around.

Man what a nice thing to do, I felt blessed to have you pray over me like that, Im glad you have joined our little circus here on the board, its nice to have people around who are strong in faith and speak with a heart for Christ.

Yes my employers are aware they just dont seem to care, I wish I could take over this site, I would run things so much more differently, but thats never going to happen.
Thanks again my new Brother from South Africa.

Mr. Madad....let me tell you a story........

Before I went to Teen Challenge I was a foreman for many construction companies....I had many men under me.
After I graduated from Teen Challenge a year later, I came back into the world out of God's hands (Boot Camp).
I got a job at Blakes Lota Burger....the best burgers in New Mexico. No....I wasn't making burgers... I was tearing down all their old restuarants and building new ones in their place.
I couldn't figure out why I was there...I mean.....instead of bidding jobs and doing them myself....I was now working by the hour on a crew as a employee.
I just threw up my hands and said....God if this is where you want me....so be it!
But.....it was funny how all my fellow workers treated me. If they cussed they would say sorry, or if they told a dirty joke and I didn't laugh, they said sorry.
I remember this one time.....men were all working, and this guy drives up and sayzzzz he has tools for sale in the trunk of his car. All the men started coming down from the rafters, off the ladders, out of the footings and towards this guy.
I stopped my saw and turned and asked the guy......ARE THEY HOT?. He answered..."Well a little warm"
Everyman there, stopped in their tracks and headed back to their tasks.
Madad they didn't turn back and go to work because the tools were hot....they turned back because a man of God spoke out!

Many men had been with this organization for over 30 years......and many....would call me and want me to come over and talk to their kids....Kids?
heck some were 45 years old. They had problems...needless to say Madad...everyone I went to speak to is now hot on fire for Christ. Hallelujah!

God did not give us a spirit of timidity....we are at war more than ever in these last days....our boldness shall prevail.

I'm putting a large addition on a home now.....everyday they HAVE to listen to Christian music :) because that's all I play on the job sites.
AND I PLAY IT LOUD....YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :) We have church 24/7 here...and I mean literally.

If you prayed and God has you where you are, then there is where you should be.
And these words you read are meant to be read by you, for you.

I'm all in for Christ..........no wavering, no stumbling, no lacking,
He's so beautiful isn't he Madad? He's so wonderful.....and oh how He loves you and me and everyone here.

WE ARE MEN OF GOD............HIS ARMY......AND WE HAVE OUR MARCHING ORDERS........

Wow! Use to meet with security owners and managers long long ago, and contracts not managed lose their contracts. Seen it happen time again. This is serious and needs serious higher order prayer for our Lord to intervene, and thanksgiving for such a great salvation.

This is what we're about coming together, and our Lord will hear us, "what is going on now" knowing before creation how He is going to handle it. A very active and Living Lord that takes care thus in prayer in unity with you good Christian folks.

I don't have industry experience, but I had experience as a contractor in my last job.

I lucked out (more likely was blessed) to be on a team where there was a natural work ethic. However, we were part of a larger contract spanning multiple disciplines. Thankfully, the bosses would enforce discipline where it was needed for the most part. That didn't stop other workers under other contracts and situations, however. Unfortunately, I think that your colleagues are pretty much representative of the average worker these days.

People just don't seem to care lately, and it spans everything from drive-thru windows to doctor's offices. My wife and I have been routinely very upset with healthcare professionals...we've had everything from a doctor walking out 10-15 minutes to field and make calls about his slightly flat back tire to workers who never take ownership, follow up or even tell the truth about very simple things.

The only advice I can give is:

#1 Look for a new job, you need a 'Plan B' - you're not superhuman and will not be able to take up the slack of multiple workers who just don't care.

#2 As Christians, I think we are called to handle more than the average person as a witness. After all, God put up with us in the first place and many times was patient with us as we learned the hard way! ;)

#3 I don't think Christians are called to be second class citizens. It's clear from passages like Matthew 5 that we should deal with a large degree of inconvenience and even struggle at times, but I also don't think becoming a slave of worry to a job you ultimately can control is a Christian thing.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.

I know that dealing with this is not easy, especially when it involves your family. My prayers are for this to work out for you and for you to continue to witness to others through a trying situation.
