Is the Destruction of Damascus at Hand?

The bible tells of a scenario wherein Damascus Syria will be completely destroyed. I wonder if this will happen in 2008 or 2009? Notice the article states Syria is trying to accumulate enough missiles by the end of 08 to sends 100's of rockets per hour into Israel.
