Luke 11:45-47, 52 Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also. And He said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. (52) Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Those verses bring to mind...."The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun." [Eccl. 1:9] As it was then, so it is now throughout the world.

They take away the key of knowledge. Just today a judge declared that the Day of Prayer is unconstitutional. They don't enter nor do they wish others to enter and wield their power to implement their wishes. They legalize abortion, same sex marriage, no prayer in school, allow vile entertainment in the name of art...everything against God's Word. They legislate in our Congress and Senate...heaping on burdens of taxes "grievous to be borne," when they themselves "touch not the burdens."​

Isaiah 1:23-24 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. Therefore saith the LORD, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease Me of Mine adversaries, and avenge Me of Mine enemies:

Lawyers and politicians go hand in hand...most politicians are/were lawyers.

Of course if we meet some legal difficulty...they are needed....but not all the time:​

1 Corinthians 5:11-13 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one do not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

We are told "judge not that ye be not judged," but we're also told...."Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." [John 7:24] So, there is a vital difference in judging. Apparently we discern who our "brother" is for there are those that say they are and...are not! Those not our brother we don't judge but those "that are within" we are to judge. Among brothers is a lawyer a necessity?​

6:1-3 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

6:5-8 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

Paul is writing that even if we lose a case...if it is among our brothers, believers, we fare better than to lose and pay court cost and pay laywers. Instead we pay to be defrauded. :(

6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effiminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

The lawyers and politicians may release the unrighteous among us, may pave their paths for them, may slap their wrists as punishment, may look away when they should act as our leaders but....we are washed, we are sanctified, we are justified and....we have the Spirit of our God!​
