    Interesting preterist argument

I don't believe people are still dying. Don't forget, Jesus said we would never die. Paul said that he would be with Christ after death, which means he would still live. Why would we not believe these two men? Has Jesus not conquered death?

    Interesting preterist argument

I actually don't believe so. Not really. Yes, our bodies die, but we are immediately "resurrected" in spiritual form, so we continue to live, but in a different form. Jesus told us "If you believe in me, you will never die. Do you believe this?". I believe it. Prior to Jesus, people...

    Interesting preterist argument

Yes, the last day. I really appreciate your post because I, myself, have posted the exact same thing several times in the past. There are a lot of examples that show the resurrection happens on the last day, and I argued that scripture does not specify the last day of something in particular...

    Interesting preterist argument

Can we please stop ignoring the fact that Paul spoke of a spiritual death and resurrection? The proof is right there, in front of our eyes. All we have to do is read it. Galatians 2:19 19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with...

    Interesting preterist argument

John 5:24-25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. When Jesus said the hour "now is", was he talking about a time 2000 years in the future? Did Jesus not know what he was saying?

The changing perception of hell. - How do you define it?

What nonsense. There are clear contradictions in the Bible. That's a fact. It was written by men, so there are bound to be mistakes. It doesn't erase our faith, but it should temper our dogmatic approach to every single word in scripture.

    Interesting preterist argument

Not quite. We don't live in the new heaven and the new earth because the new heaven and earth refers to Jesus Christ. He lives in us.

    Interesting preterist argument

Seems silly to take this one flimsy argument against all the strong arguments that tells us he did accomplish everything in 70AD. You have to ignore a lot of stuff to stick with this. You also have to support the strange notion that the resurrection refers to people walking around earth in the...

The changing perception of hell. - How do you define it?

I've learned to not be so quick to say "this or that" is a heresy, or a lie. There are many topics discussed in the Bible, for which you can pull arguments both for and against, from that same Bible, even to the point of finding outright contradictions. Including universalism.

Why is it somehow ok for people to force their kids to play sports even when they don’t want to?

Good intentions there, but that can backfire too. If you force them to do something they don't like, you'll just make them dislike it even more. Also, if they're not good at it, it will only hurt their confidence more. I say, let them focus on the things they're good at. 1. They'll enjoy...

    Hell's Population Clock

In order to understand Matthew 10:28 we have to understand the meanings of the words "soul" and "hell". The word translated as soul here is psuchēn, which means "breath of life". Definition: Soul, life, self, inner being Meaning: (a) the vital breath, breath of life, (b) the human soul, (c)...

ICE raid on churches, have they gone too far?

Every country in the world protects their borders and controls who enters the country. This is normal. Why is this so controversial in the USA?

    A God of Hate

Are you saying there was no distinction between singular and plural, when this text was written?

    A God of Hate

Sounds like you're saying God is everything. Does that then also mean that everything is God?

    A God of Hate

Do you mean, every proton and neutron in my desk, and in my hair and in my bowl of chili, are a part of God? I'm not being facetious here. I actually think you're on the right path. Everything in the universe is made up of energy. Every single thing. Without energy, there's nothing. Energy...

    A God of Hate

Yes, that's a good point. So now we've established that there are multiple gods, but what criteria must one meet to be considered a god? The word used in your example of Deuteronomy 10:17 is Elohim, plural of Eloah. Elohim are defined as: a. rulers, judges, either as divine representatives...

    A God of Hate

I have a feeling that we will all understand much better, once we cross over to the other side, because there's a whole world out there that we can't see and don't understand. Like you said, the best we can do for now is use some descriptive language and apply attributes to God, but that's far...

    A God of Hate

Gee, I guess I missed that meeting. I didn't get the invite. Did you take notes? Can you share them with me? This is what you get when you pretend to know everything, but you really don't. A lot of non-answers. Thanks for trying though! You get a sticker!

    A God of Hate

Yahweh is the name of the Father whom Jesus referenced, but Elohim is plural and means "Gods". Presumably Yahweh is included in this group, but then who are these other Gods? Who is the "us" in "Let us create man in our image"? And how is a person fully God, yet fully man? How is a woman...
