How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

I have been saying over and over that the Bible teaches for one to be saved one must do God's will...one must obey to be saved (Rom 6:16-18; Heb 5:9; 2 Thess 1:8; etc). Yet some here deny that obedience saves, they go so far as to call obedience a work of merit.

    How to Teach : Salvation

Once again you cannot even provide an honest argument by putting words in my mourg I never said. Obedience does not earn salvation and you will never have any understanding of NT salvation to you give up your false ideas.

    Where’s the outrage?

The Bible shows there is one body (church) and one faith, Eph 4:4-5. Paul reminded the Corinthians he espoused them to ONE husband Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 11:2. And that one husband Jesus Christ has ONE bride the church of the NT, the body of Christ, Eph 5:23. Christ is not a spiritual adulterer...

    How to Teach : Salvation

You'd be right. The cross of Christ provided a pathway to heaven but it is still up to man to take that path by obeying Christ (Heb 5:9). Most will not obey Christ therefore miss that pathway to heaven. Salvation therefore is synergistic, it takes both God and man for man to be saved....it...

    How to Teach : Salvation

If only the cross saves and since Christ died on the cross for every man, (Heb 2:9), does that mean every man will be universally, unconditionally saved?

    The Sinners Prayer?

There is not but one gospel. And in that one gospel Christ requires belief (Jn 8:24) repentance (Lk 13:3) confession (Mt 10:32-33) and baptism (MK 16:16) to be saved. Therefore one cannot isolate one verse by itself as Jn 3:16 and proclaim belief only saves while ignoring all other salvific...

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

This is the samething you posted to me last time. Nothing has change since then.

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

You like the first typo so much, I did it again. Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. God does not require perfect, sinless obedience from man to justify man, if He did then no man could be saved. Man cannot in and of himself be perfect, yet...

    Imputed Righteousness.

Righteousness or sin are not abstract ideas that are unconditionally transferred between people regardless of what people do. People are righteous because they do righteousnes and people are sinners because they sin. One cannot be righteous apart from doing righteousness as one cannot be a...

    Is believing/faith a work ?

Hebrews 11:7 and the simplicity of it: "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith." Was the salvation of Noah's house...

    The Sinners Prayer?

Jesus said more than Jn 3:16. Jesus required repentance in Lk 13:3 confession in Matt 10:32-33 and baptism in Mk 16:16 to be saved. Jesus did not contradict Himself. The verb "believeth" as used in Jn 3:16 and some other places is used as a synechdoche, a figure of speech were the part...

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

What about Luke 13:3? Romans 2:3-5? Mark 16:16? Acts 2:21 cf Acts 2:38?

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

I agree with you the whole of the word has to be studied and taken into consideration but I do not agree with you about what you said with the Holy Spirit having to convict men BEFORE man is able to receive the word of God. That idea is purely Calvinistic and puts fault and culpability upon God...

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

I agree with you that ALL verses that deal with salvation have to be considered, not just some. Romans 10:9-10 tells us some of what is necessary to be saved, therefore all verses that deal with salvation must be taken into consideration. One cannot cherry pick out just the verses that...

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

Rom 10:9-10 are not the only two verses in the Bible that deal with salvation. One must take into account 'all the counsel of God" (Acts 20:27) which means Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; Matt 10:32-33; Mk 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Rom 6:3-6; 1 Pet 3:21; Col 2:11-12 among dozens of other salvific verses all...

    The Sinners Prayer?

The BIble requires obedience to God in order to be saved (Heb 5:9; Rom 6:16-18; 2 Thess 1:8; Acts 2:38; etc) and the BIble does not contradict itself. You cannot cite a single example of one who was continually living in disobedience, rebellion to God's will but God unconditionally saved that...

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

When any topic of the Bible is being studied, such as salvbation, one must examine ALL verses that deal with salvbation, not just one or two verses. Rom 10:9-10 are two verses that deal with salvbation but they are far from the only verses. You ifnore verses that require repentance (Lk 13:3...

How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!!!

It's a typo. The publican is not an example of NT gospel salvation per Heb 9:16-17; Rom 6:3-6; Rom 10:9-10. According to Luke's account of the great commission, the gospel would begin at Jerusalem where Peter preached repentance and remission of sins. From when the gospel message began to be...
