Why do some people not like the idea of OSAS?

Because the Covenant of Moses was a contract that must be fulfilled. The people of Israel broke the contract repeatedly, but God restored them repeatedly. In order to establish a New Covenant, the penalty of the contract had to be paid. It was not easy without killing all the people of Israel...

    To help others

Yes, any fulfillment I get now at my age comes from helping others. My military days are long gone now.

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

There are, but only for the O.T. books. The N.T. books suffer the curse of not existing in Hebrew or Aramaic. That puts people using Greek translations to reveal Hebrew thought..

Why do some people not like the idea of OSAS?

Referring to post 724 - For an answer to that, one would have to look at the punishment intended for those who broke the Covenant of Moses.

Keeping the Sabbath tells people Who you Worship

Commandment? No. Good idea for our human bodies, I think so.

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

In speaking to those who participate in Bible studies, the issues with finding truth arise because our Bible translations have blended the concept of the Father with the Son. Now, it is uncertain to whom we refer. Even in our music, we blend the two as if they are the same person. Followers of...

    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

Well, this picture goes back some years. I guess I still have enough concern about my appearance that I don't show anyone what I look like now. I wouldn't want to scare anyone.

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

So, I'll pit my theologian against your theologian and see who wins..... or, maybe we can just not try to claim that we know "the truth" that everyone else is supposed to believe. The greatest damage to Christianity itself was in translating the scriptures into Greek.

Did Jesus claim to be God?

Dt 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. 2 Sa 22:32 For who is God, but Yahweh? And who is a rock, except our God? 2 Ki 19:14–15 And Hezekiah prayed before Yahweh and...

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

If His words were recorded, the writer would have to translate from the language of the Nazarene to Greek.

Keeping the Sabbath tells people Who you Worship

While it may sound weird to some, Jesus came to fulfill the law. He gave two great commandments. Mt 22:37–40 And Jesus said to him, ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine understanding— this is a first and great command; and the second is...

Yep, I stand corrected. Thank you.

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

I suppose my question could have been more verbose to clarify it. First, a little algebra: X=Y. If X is in one language, and Y is in another, but they are equal; can I quote X for people who understand Y? If someone writes that I said something in X, would their writing in Y look like I said it...

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

Peter was a physician, so he probably could speak Greek.

    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

I agree with you. Don't let that come as a shock.... Only my imagination serves to tell me that God did not provide the originals of those writing because He wants us to diligently search for His truth. The first step in that search is to shut down our egos and open our eats to the teaching...

Commanded to love God more than we love ourselves?

It is interesting (I think!) that one of the ECF reports seeing Matthew written in Hebrew or Aramaic. I do have doubts about Galilean fishermen speaking Greek.

And you know that He actually quoted the Septuagint "in Greek?"

Why do Christians prefer their Churches segregated..

Perhaps, but I was keeping it simple. If we dig deep, there is an entangling spider web beneath.

Did Jesus claim to be God?

I have not studied all of the writing of the 21st Century Reformation, but there are positions that they seem to take that I can largely agree with:
