What Makes Ex-Christians Think They Once Were Christians?

Bottom line, you can lose your salvation and one way is by denouncing Christ, BUT, you can't lose something you never really had which was the essence of my previous comments.

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

That's what it says, meaning not usurping authority over the man; No women preachers, no women elders, no women leading prayer, and likewise.

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

It's ALL scripture. Everything in the bible is scripture.

No, I would not agree because I don't agree with your nebulous premise.

What Makes Ex-Christians Think They Once Were Christians?

1st of all, to become a Christian has nothing whatsoever to do with claiming to be or "identifying" as one. Secondly, he really wasn't a Christian by doing what you described, namely, believing and "confessing with his mouth unto salvation", because that scripture. Rom 10:9, doesn't constitute...

What Makes Ex-Christians Think They Once Were Christians?

What exactly is an "Ex Christian"? You must first be able to define what a Christian is and how one becomes a Christian. So, what is a Christian and how does one become a Christian?

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

How so? Truth is always contrary to untruth which in essence is division. Truth should and does cause division.

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

Here's an excerpt from something I've posted previously here and elsewhere that should shed light on this topic, that addresses spiritual gifts. And yes. there's an obvious lack of understanding and misinterpretation of what is meant by "that which is perfect" which this covers as well. REPOST...

Does John 5:24-29 contradict the belief that one must believe in Jesus to avoid eternal death?

Trinity TRANSLATIONS -- - - . Translations is the key word. Once again, scripture does not contradict itself.

Does John 5:24-29 contradict the belief that one must believe in Jesus to avoid eternal death?

Scripture does NOT contradict itself and must be looked at cumulatively. You cannot extract one passage only and found a belief upon it, but rather, you must take all pertinent scriptures to ascertain in total what they say cumulatively.

    What does "born again" mean?

Just for clarification for you, yes, it's Christ's blood, but where does one contact the saving blood of Christ? It's by being baptized into his body. Read Romans 6 carefully. We're baptized into his death and it's at his death that his blood was shed. Also, you're not understanding he thief...

    What does "born again" mean?

You're not understanding the difference in John's baptism vs baptism into Christ and that there is a difference. John's baptism was identical to the baptism noted in Acts 2:38. John's Baptism was stated as the baptism of repentance for the remission of sin. This is in essence the same as Acts...

    What does "born again" mean?

Paul was told to be baptized calling on the name of the Lord. And Jesus said belief and baptism is necessary for salvation. Acts 22:16 16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Mark 16:15-16 15And he said unto them, Go ye...

    What does "born again" mean?

You can't be born again and be Christ's if you're in sin and the only way to remove sin is by water immersion, baptism. Acts 2:38 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the...

    What does "born again" mean?

You're NOT saved until you've been baptized according to scripture. Until you're baptized, you're still in sin.

    What does "born again" mean?

You obviously don't understand what being converted means. What does it mean? You're NOT converted until you've been saved. And what does that mean? It means your sins have been forgiven and you are the Lords. And how does that happen according to scripture? Read Acts 2:38-47. Upon belief and...
